Really sick of multiplayer being added to bioware games.

Battle of Palaven section of Reaper War codex specifically mentions several Reaper capital ships being destroyed by the turians using conventional naval/space combat weapons and tactics, but you failed to mention that for reasons I imagine have nothing to do with destroying your argument, no? Guess that also goes for Reaper dreadnoughts clearly taking damage from allied forces in the Battle for Earth cinematics.

Willfully obtuse describes pretty much every salty shitpost you make bub. You don't win an argument simply by declaring it so.

Really? Because the codex says they "downed" several Reapers, but that those Reapers quickly recovered and shat all over Palaven. And the Turians made that assault against the Reapers in a way that would not have benefited from Reaper FTL drives.

Finally, he pretty much confirmed that the arks leave pre ME3. He wasn't even cryptic about it. He said "the ME3 endings won't matter at all in Andromeda, and from that you can infer when the travelers left the Milky Way to a certain extent".

It's about damn time.

Well, you would really only need two things to make the journey to Andromeda feasible:

  • Some way to preserve the travelers during the long journey. We discovered very effective cryo-sleep as early as Ilos in ME1, and again in Eden Prime during ME3. This machinery is able to last more than 50,000 years, far more than it's necessary for even a slow trip to Andromeda. No retcon here.
  • Being able to use FTL without having to worry about the issues with discharge. It is explicitly mentioned in the ME codex that Reapers don't seem to discharge their drives, so you would only have to reverse-engineer their technology. As I said above, Sovereign's corpse was available from the end of ME1 and was still around two years later in ME2. There are other pieces of Reaper technology scattered throughout the galaxy and even other dead Reapers, like the one we encounter in ME2. Plus, there's the collectors, as the Black Ark theory mentions. Heck, it wouldn't even have to be Reaper technology. The protheans could have developed a more effective form of FTL and let the asari know in their archive. Other precursor species could have also had similar technology, and the Milky Way is littered with the ruins of their civilizations. Possibilities are endless.
You don't get it. People need to hate this game. That's why they will ignore everything you posted above. They will never get over ME3's endings.

Good points by the way. This is all we really need.

And I thought the names that the players would use for the PC would be bad. Thanks for putting that eventuality in my head. Take your honorary like. I've got coffee with a side of Brain Bleach to go consume.

It's a shame Iron Bull can't be in Andromeda, otherwise you could have Bullryders.

i'm sure lotsa people have "gotten over" the endings. that wont change there opinions on them. since the endings have already happened, it also doesnt change what took place step by step and only, fact by fact.

postulating that people "need" to hate the game or the franchise is your opinion and that's totally cool too. but its not a fact. and it hardly sounds like it could be a fact.

Has anyone mentioned how Mac said Spring of next year in his interview with Geoff? That puts the release between the end of March and roughly the next E3.  I'm willing to wait for something great but I'm really hoping they can stick to that first quarter release.

  • The game is in it's 'final stretch', now it's mainly 'polish, polish, polish'

I'm glad to hear this even if he is being liberal with the use of the word polish. My biggest concern with the lack of information and gameplay was not the lack of information. Because it was a departure from the norm, my concern was about how far along the development process it was and how much they would have to rush to get it finished. From the sound of it you can play the game from start to finish and the bulk of the gameplay has been designed and implemented. It's a relief to hear that.

well Gwydden's points are good. i dont see anything wrong with it. and i hadnt known people were debating whether travel to andromeda was feasible or not.

(not focused on you now)

if its one thing we've been told by bioware enough times, its that the PC is going to andromeda in search of a home. since the PC is a human we are of course originating from the milky way. why debate feasibility of the journey? however it is retconned or explained by Bioware, the journey will be made in the game. we know this as concrete information.

i just find it odd that people are debating this, of all things. why cant we debate the lack of hair physics as seen from the video?

For the love of all that is holy, I hope we can create Asian protagonists for ME games, DA used the same engine and the it's hard to make a convincing Asian face with it.

I wonder how many people we're popping over to Andromeda with us. I feel like it'd have to be quite a damn lot. Which begs the question of why nobody seemed to have any knowledge or make any mention of this project happening if the voyage begins pre-ME3.

Good to know in advance about the possible relatives, so I don't end up ****** it up like in DA2 where I used a latino preset to make an asian Hawke.

Well, it made some scenes fun, I must admit.

Maybe it was common knowledge, but not plot-relevant. Therefore, no need to tell the player character.

Possibly. But I feel like it would only make sense for the voyage to have begun before anyone knew about the Reapers. Otherwise that would be a lot of resources that could have been put to use in the battle against them. So it possibly happened pre ME1? I'm so curious about this timeline.

Ya, it's all sounding real promising. (I mean that sincerely)

I'm really interested in particular to see what they'll be doing with Multiplayer this time around. Maybe... less repetitive horde mode and more co-op adventure fun? Who knooooooooooows!

It took the entire fleet of the Citadel and most of the Alliance fleet to stop ONE Reaper...why would any sane strategist think that they could beat an untold number of Reapers conventionally?

They would have to be extremely stupid to not seriously consider fleeing as a valid backup plan.

True. I'm just trying to think of ways they can explain this project never being mentioned in the earlier games, because of course it wouldn't have been. Even if it was considered a fleeing strategy, it would have been brought up. And there'd probably have been arguments about who got on board.

They're not likely to come up with airtight explanations for all of the questions like these. It's an impossible task. Personally, I'm choosing to focus on the quality of the game once we get to Andromeda. That's the most important thing.

I know, and I'm not all that hung up on it. I just wonder what story they'll go with, airtight or not, because I feel like something has to be said about it. Just some speculation!

I think I'm so pessimistic about the odds of these type of questions being well addressed that I've just moved past them, mentally. There is no way these Arks launch post-ME3, and there's no viable explanation for why we would've been unaware of them until now. The only answer is hand-waving galore. I'm okay with that, since it's a necessary evil, in this case. They just have to make up for this early nonsense by giving us some awesome, consistent story and lore in the rest of the game.

I noticed a few different ME1-style armors, which can only be a good thing, if you ask me. I remember there being speculation about this game's armor on this forum a while back. The inclusion of aliens is also a good thing, although it would've been cool to play as one. The graphics are going to be great, obviously. The blurry textures in the original trilogy were a common peeve.

I still don't know whether I'm interested in this game yet, but I'll keep an eye on it.
