Arktinen, you really should play more stuff even if on ps3. A game might turn out quite different when you play it rather than the impressions you've made while seeing trailers or even gameplay.

A recent example, I hate most of the recent assasins creed games and when I saw the gameplay and trailers for AC Syndicate, I thought that it was terrible and didin't even wanna try it. But then I happened to play a bit of it once and it was so different to my expectations. Everything I've seen suggested that the game would suck but it turned out to be one of my favorite of the series.

Mass Effect is amazing no doubt but there are plenty of other games out there that are equally good and the rare ones that are even better. You would be missing out if you don't try things that, even though they might look silly at first might actually turn out great. Just my 2cents.

Neither of us are willing to pay €40+ on a gamble. Especially when most of the gambles turn out to be even worse than first impressions suggested. The gaming industry is full of recycled junk that isn't innovative, or original, just a rehash of something more successful before it, which just makes it boring and overdone.

Personally, I consider the gaming INDUSTRY dead. Only indie devs have anything to add, and most of their stuff is free.

TeaKrogan, true, and I occasionally try out other games, too, i'm not saying that at all. I just won't put that sort of money to a new console that they're asking for iPS4, for example the cheapest version starting around 350-400 euros.

But on PS3, sure. :) I've shortly tested Infamous, as I found the ability climb up the buildings and electrocuting enemies cool. Mostly liked Borderlands 2 though (and BL1 was ok), as a co-op. Same with Diablo II, that was really entertaining (as a co-op, as well) on pc. Played that one for months. Disappointed in Diablo III, didn't appeal that much, felt like it was only a fraction of the game as II was.

Husband also played a lot of Assassin's Creeds, ...I'm known to have snuck in a few occasions of just going horseback riding, or climbing buildins. :)

Ah yes, and we usually keep an eye out for those seasonal game sales, too, so at least won't have to pay the full price in case the game turns out to be not entertaing enough or just bad.

I guess for me, it's often the lack of time, and I'll then use it for the ones I am interested at that time. Having taken the occasional month's break from ME3MP, like many here seem to do at times, have played some other games during that time just fo a change.

You can always get them for much reduced prices later and psn offers a lot of offers and discounts on older games. There's no need to get the game on day 1. Where's the fun if you don't take a leap of faith now and then. There's plenty of original and innovative games out there and there's more coming out like dishonored, For Honor etc. I think the industry is far from dead and is in fact thriving.

Rak told me last night that someone is DoS attacking Planetside 2 until shotguns are removed from the game.

If it were up to me I would respond by doubling Certification rates for Shotgun kills for the next month.  Sadly it's not up to me.

Planetside was collateral damage. The asshat DDoS-er had severe anal pain about shotguns in H1Z1, a game made by the same company that's now in charge of PS2 (Daybreak Games), so he went after em and managed to crash server login for all Daybreak products for like 35 minutes. Credit where credit is due, DBG restored it pretty quick given that it happened during European prime time.

Btw, I've seen some people with JAR tags running around. Your squad is back to Planetside?

Why would anyone be shocked or surprised that people are still playing one of the greatest games ever made?
