It's going to be hard not to name them Ghost . There is a theory that the N7 soldier we keep seeing is actually a family member of Ryder. A sibling maybe?

My eyes tell me Ryder is N7. So do my hopes. Considering what we know about em I truly hope so. They're bad@$$. In trailer for 2015 you see N7 guy on Tempest I'd you notice TMP. You notice him at the Tempest control panel and and with two of our confirmed squad members. In 2016 preview you see a similar man with Krogan and salarian at control panel on Tempest. You also see N7 with dust. That's us.

I'm thinking the N7 antagonist will be the protag's cousin, who the protag looked up to in their youth until he went rogue and killed the protag's brother/sister (I'm thinking Fallout 4 style, where if you choose the female protag, male sibling is killed, and vice versa).

I'm thinking the antagonist was once the pride of the Ryder family, the first in their family to reach N7 status, while the protag is maybe N4 or N5 rank at the beginning. I think it would be cool if in the story the protag gets promoted until he/she reaches the N7 rank.

E3 2014 had the greatest character designs out of all the trailers.

I hope so. They said our protag would be N7 that year. I hope they deliver or I'll be pi$$3d. N7 means more to bioware and hopefully to many than just a military Designation. Similar to halo's Spartan program. I like N7 so much cause they're so bad@$$. I know we are not as experienced as Shepard but I don't want to be playing as some average Joe. I at least want to be a trained warrior.

I remember Bioware saying something about what does N7 mean to you but can no longer find it anywhere.

 

So far I seen that we'll be a Pathfinder--a trained but unproven warrior.  Every N7 has already proven themselves in combat.

that depends on what they meant by proven. Doesn't necessarily mean combat. It could be leadership, exploration,etc. I take it from gameplay that we are highly trained in combat. There have been very young N7's. Look at Kai Leng for example. He graduated from N school when he was 20. I looked at it again and it said combat trained but untested explorer. Untested explorer. Ryder doesn't have much experience exploring.

They might've changed plans about us being N7. Also, there's no indication those characters in the E3 2015 trailer are Drak and Cora,

They have literally no reason to lie about the N7 not being our character. Why would they lie about it? 

The Tempest migh've not be our ship at first. Or maybe he has a similar ship. There are many possibilities you're not considering. 

It is possible that we're N7, as it's possible we're not, It seems strange howewer that our character in recent trailers appeared without the N7 insignia but with the Ai insignia, which they are not starting to use in their shirt as well. I don't care either way at the moment. It doesn't change the fact that the N7 character we saw so far is not the protagonist, even if the latter will be N7.

Not being a N7 doesn't mean you're an average joe. Kaidan and Ashely weren't N7 and they did became Spectres. And N7 aren't the only 'trained warriors' out there.
