A sort of failsafe???? What is going on here? Asari are the worst species to mate with. They essentially clone themselves. Also whoever they mate with, they still get Asari offspring, so they will vastly outnumber any other MW species. My take is that the Asari High command was left out of this project, and only very few Asari were taken along.

No because they aren't actually sexually reproducing therefore you aren't leaving any legacy. It would make no sense.

You DO realize, that any offspring of Asari would still be... Asari... so this is only a viable option for Asari and only if we hope for survival for at least one spieces from Milky Way after getting to Andromeda.

It'd be like adoption. The non-Asari parent can still raise the child to uphold their race's cultural values.
Liara's dad was more aggressive than the average Asari. She was the byproduct of a Krogan and Asari.

And many people don't adopt. Most people choose to breed even though adopting is a viable strategy for some. There is no logic or reason that is going to replace the reality that most people want some of their DNA to pass. While in ME there were people who were cool with never having kids of their own, this isn't the same reality. They believe that the entire fate of the species rests on them they aren't going to accept "adoption". Beyond that they would begin to outnumber any other species and they live a long ass time...it would just be asari council all over again. No thanks. Now people can see why I wish the asari didn't join us. At this point I would be so happy of they were the only species left out lol. They were the most annoying species ever.

If someone really wants kids, raising an Asari that they played a small role in making is better than no child at all.
Plus most races in the MWG enjoy banging Asari, so it's a very natural process anyways. It's bound to happen whether we want it or not.
