Maybe the Reapers were in the Andromeda galaxy and built that 2nd Citadel we saw. What would the Reapers be doing between the 50,000 year cycles? Taking a power nap?

The Reapers could have traveled between the Milky Way and Andromeda, until they were defeated in ME3. Giving a plausible explanation to why there is a Citadel in Andromeda.

Actually, according to the lore, the Reapers were "power napping." They needed time to be on low power while in Dark Space to regroup. And not to be rude, but I don't want the see the Reapers again. I expect some references to the Reapers that happened no matter what. Such as the attack on the Citadel in ME1. Let's leave it at little things like that.

I feel like the Reapers ceased to be interesting when they just turned out to carrying out some broken AI's programming.

They are referring to what fans call the Ark, which does have a Citadel-inspired design. The big ships from the trailer.

There was no Citadel(it was the Ark ships) and I'd rather then not just rehash the Reapers as the villain again.

We were already fighting the Reapers for 3 games. I'd like to move on to something else.

Yeah, they do and are actually ships built by us to travel to Andromeda.

Yep yep.

Well, maybe. Check out the Black Ark theory and judge for yourself. ;)

While I don't think the Reapers should be in Andromeda because they are part of Shepard's story, I would love to see their legacy in Andromeda like for example Andromeda having Mass Relays.

So that's the Ark, looked like a Citadel to me. Also, I never said they were going to be in this game as enemies.

I hope we stay away from Reapers this time.

Maybe a reference and I'm not expecting them to take part in the Andromeda setting. The point of ME:A is to completely head in a new direction.

I don't think there should be there period. It would possibly canonize an ending, which the ME team has stated adamantly that they won't do. They should be referenced and possibly have some of the tech around, but otherwise it's time to leave them be.

I'm kinda exhausted on the galatic/reality destroying threats showing themselves early on. I'd prefer to start off a little quieter. For all of it's flaws, I thought DA2 did a pretty good job in that regard. Too bad the game didn't get the development time it needed to shine. Oh well.

The Reapers not being enemies doesn't really make much sense though.

I think it's safe to say, we've seen everything there is to see about Reapers. It's possible that they are instigators for the whole Andromeda exodus, but I doubt there will be a connection beside that. At least I surely hope there isn't.

As for similarities between the design of  Citadel and Arks.  Yeah, there is to a some degree, but I highly doubt it's due Reaper influence, but I'd wager both just use the centrifugal force, thus similar shape and structure. I've always wondered why this quite simple and cost-effective way to maintain artificial gravity seems to be so rarely used in the ME universe (ofc, unless those Arks are 1km dreadnoughts it will be lower than let's say Earth's gravity. I reckon less will do when conserving energy is somewhat an issue on 2.5 million light-year long journey).

This.

The Reapers were great antagonists. They deserved better than the awful writing in ME3.

I want them to rest in peace finally, after all that Starbrat did to them. But I wouldn't mind few references here and there, or some engineers going crazy from (possible) Reaper tech used in Ark creation.

This.

The Reapers were great protagonists. They deserved better than the awful writing in ME3.

Protagonists? Um, maybe from a certain point of view. I think you mean antagonist in this case. Sovereign and Harbinger gave me the impression that this was perhaps something on the barest edge of comprehension. My imagination did run little rampant. Even though I was active on the BSN, I'd managed to avoid most spoilers, so I was kinda excited.

The Reapers turning out to be lackies for an AI was a huge letdown. Contrary to what the Starbrat says, I can comprehend bad programming just fine. :P

Yeah, I've seen that already and the Collector's ship design looks and sounds more convincing as it happened earlier in the trilogy (also Earth is looking fine in the trailer).

This thread just prompted an interested concept.  In countless 50'000 year cycles, surely the reapers could/would have flown to other Galaxies to continue their 'purpose'. They said themselves that time does not really matter to them like it would an organic.

How come, all of a sudden, Humanity is able to bridge the dark space gap between Galaxies yet no mention is ever made of Reapers travelling to other Galaxies?
