Multicultural Tempest crew (not necessary squadmates)

Some of us have been stressing out regarding the fact it will be 7 squadmates more or less and all our favourite Milky Way species couldn't be part of the squad without loosing the opportunity of having new species in the squad.

Then, with the new trailer I realize: it's not necessary we once more have a turian, quarian, asari, etc. in our squad in order to see them and interact with them. However, they could be an important part of the ship Tempest.

Think about it: in all three Mass Effect games we played in human vessels. That's why the only multicultural reference we had were the squadmates. That's why it was important to have a turian, a krogan, an asari, a quarian, a geth, a salarian, etc.

However, maybe this time we are part of a bigger and multicultural reality. We are milkywayers, we need to stand together. That can be very challenging when every single species are going to prioritaze their own people as once Ashley Williams pointed out. Hell, even the trailers don't stop talking about Humanity, our home as humans, etc. (though I think it could be linked with the fact it's easier to give that vibe to a new gamers who don't know anything about the previous trilogy).

That's why I think in order to pursue a collaboration within milky wayers, the representatives of each species would like to be represented in the Tempest.

So, this way we could have 1 Krogan, 2 humans, 1 Asari (for example), 1 turian (for example), and 2 new species as squadmates but at the same time our driver or ship technician can be a salarian, our doctor can be a volus, a quarian can be our communications expert, a batarian our chef, etc. They maybe are not part of our squad, but they can be relevant to the plot, befriended or romanceable as well as Traynor, Cortez in ME3, or Cullen, Josephine, Lelianna in Inquisition.

What do you think? :)

I'd prefer multicultural crew from all Milky Wayan alien races, humanity can't be only one interested in looking new home in Andromeda. Sadly I'm worried that it'll be just another humanity show.

I like the Idea. Finding a Vorcha mechanic working on the shuttle would be a nice surprise.

Quarian Chief Engineer.

Volus requisition officer.

Drell Intel officer.

Batarian Doctor. (You, human! You have the blight!)

And an Elcor chef.

I absolutly agree with everything you said. They can't all be squadmates, not enough space.

But I really want to interact with as many MW species as possible, it's fine if they are NPC as long as we can have real well-written relationships with them (friends or LI). The trailer make me think the salarian could be our pilot !

That said, it's also true for new species. I really want to find many new interesting andromeda-native NPC ~

Omg, I love Elcor chef:

Ryder: Please, tell me this time you didn't put that Elcor spices all over the food.

Elcor: Shamelessly lying. Of course not.

Batarian Doctor, smoking: You humans are weak.

Krogan squadmate: That's what I say in every mission.

I think it's a bit more complicate then that. I think every species are looking for new home in Andromeda (the leak already kind of confirmed that). The projects are probably separate though.

While I do think Bioware could've chosen to make the plot more about the MW species in general, and not just the humanity's search, I don't think this means the other species aren't looking to colonize planets.

yep !

talking about Dr Chakwas, as long as we don't have a vorcha doctor, I'm fine with everything

Also that idea of a Salarian pilot, I cannot get it out of my head, I don't know why but I love it ~

I would assume one or more companions will be members of the Andromeda Galaxy's native species.

If other Milky Wayan species are looking planets to colonize separately from humanity then it's likely that there will be some conflicts and battles between Milky Wayan races. It can became race to colonize planets before other species have time. Hmm, I didn't think of that before.

By multicultural I thought you meant Human-wise. So I was about to say "Hey! We got Cortez in ME3! He's super-multicultural. He's black, Hispanic and Homosexual. That's like 150 points right there."

I wouldn't mind a Vorcha doctor that sounded like THIS.

I'm thinking more of a Salarian navigator after the BTS trailer.

Asari doctor would make more sense to me, as they have long lifespans, enough to master medicine for multiple species. Or, another Salarian?

I would be happy as long as there are no Batarians on my ship. And if there is one, throw him out the airlock should definitely be an option.

Some conflicts might happen, but it's possible there'll be a political organization formed by every species to avoit this kind of problem. I'm curious to see how the MW species act in Andromeda.

I guess we need to know confirmed list of species in MEA first. As for "find a home for mah humanity", I won't be surprised if it's not just marketing metaphor. We had fate of the galaxy decided between two humans with different kinds of indoctrination, with some Reapers and Leviathans on background.

I wouldn't mind a Vorcha doctor that sounded like THIS.

"Shot by a rocket? Eat a sandwich and rest for a few hours. What? It didn't help? The hell is wrong with you, humans?!"
