Riiiight. I never thought about dating all those people I found completely unattractive. Well, too late now, seeing as I'm married. Guess I'll have to settle for having a beautiful wife, and just wonder what could've been.
In all seriousness, I don't think the homely Asari will look exactly like that in-game, anyway. That looked more like a demonstration of animation techniques than anything indicative of actual in-game visuals. The protagonist at the end of the vid was more indicative of in-game models.
In typical BSN fashion, you guys are eagerly anticipating hooking up with lizards, birds and all sorts of alien fauna. What happened to human women? Sigh. The romance arcs are sideline material for me, not headliner material, but I am pleased to hear that they've made an effort to make things more realistic and "organic" in all relationships. Sounds promising.

What if hypothetically speaking she is a male romance option but the romance is engaging and beloved? That's silly to write her off just because you don't find her attractive!
I personally preferred female humans over female aliens in the trilogy. That's why I said probably female humans. I can't say without knowing the various characters though.

Allow me to explain why...
For starters, the Asari in the trailer does not look as good as Liara or Shiala or Samara or Aria or Tevos, and the other Asaris I listed here are showcased on older game engines.
Additionally, the Asari in the trailer also does not look as badass as Aria or Samara or Tela Vasir and once again, the other Asaris I listed here are showcased on older game engines.
IMO, the Asari in the trailer looks a lot like Sera and plenty of us don't really like Sera very much. Personally, if she behaves like Sera, then my protagonist will throw her out of the airlock.
