You talk like that, as if soviet leaders didnt terrorise russian citizens too. Stalin killed thousands of ppl, imprisoned a lot of innocents and done many horrific things. But no please be free to say how only your people had it bad. my mom and my grandparents had a poor life, my uncle was imprisoned for 5 years without proper judgement, my grand grand father was killed in his house for his religion.

Russia is not just the government , its people too, they fought the war simply to survive not to invade the other countries.

so when you putting the blame, blame the dictators and the government.

And yet you defend the Soviets. Do you seriously not understand why people might see that as bad?

Communism is bad and wrong, its absurd to say otherwise. Id prefer our present "democracy" of sorts to that.

But Germany would have won WW2 if not for Russia, not understanding this is foolish too.

Not correct, it;s bad and wrong when it is not applied to its real principles, just as our present 'democracy' which is a bit of a joke is bad also democracy has nothing to do with communism.

I think it's called 'reference delusion'. I mean, the op's disorder.

OP should really stop watching Russia 24 TV. Let me tell you little something - there are plenty of things on Earth that are not meant to offend or discriminate Russia and\or Russians. They just happen, because reasons.

Also - uchi matchast, pen! They had named the fing top-front space station (aka Jump Zero) after Gagarin, and we've got plenty of Russian names on the galaxy map. Not to mention couple of high-ranking military figures (like Rear Admiral Mikhailovich). Rusophobes don't really act like that.

This, seriously. I'm all for diversity and all that and it's something to keep an eye on for developers. But seriously they named stuff drawing inspiration from all kinds of history and nationalities. They do need a name with a good ring to it though, something simple and catchy, it's gonna be in a lot of dialogue. The decision makes sense.

I don't think Bioware should be held responsible to represent everything in their games. If it makes sense storywise and sounds good to them, they'll put it in and try to represent stuff well. But seriously it's a game developed in North America which is obviously going to favour English names, and it's not even so bad that it is *exlusively* English names. I'm sure if you looked it up there'll be Russian developers using *gasp* mostly Russian names and settings.

I seriously wouldn't mind running around as a Tereshkova... it has something. Doesn't mean the character would have a russian accent or anything, he could be a long distant relative to Ms. Tereshova from Russia, and have completely lost all his "russianess", if that would be anyone's concerns. Do I find it "better" than a typical 'nother west-ish name? No. I seriously don't give a flying vortex.

Other alien and crewmembers would just refer to me as " 'Kova "... I love the idea, but I'm also the guy that prefers the Winter Soldier over Captain America... *huehue*

One could argue that without westerners bombing German industry there would be a German flag flying over all slavic cities west of Urals.

Nothing, if you dont mind several hundred milion dead, and the fact that it caused Eastern Europe to be associated with undeveloped and poor.

Exactly, you can argue the outcome of the war till we are blue in the face.  Germany doesn't expand the resources it did on the eastern front and face a highly motivated russian army and they are a much bigger problem.  As for the USA they committed a great deal to the war effort but they didn't have an army in their country and at their door ready to take over, nor did they have a huge amount of their population sent to camps.
