Just something thats been bugging me over the last 24 hrs... why are people being so negative about the new asari just based on her look? For all we know she could look completely different in the released game and she could be the most badass character in the squad if she is part of it so how can you base your opinions on a character based on how she looks? And i noticed that the female human is getting a lot of love just because she said one line... it might not even be hers... they might have just put it in there for the purpose of the trailer because we dont even see her say it as the picture has blacked out by then...

My main gripes (albeit very minor) with the new asari are mainly
1) The eyebrows because they don't have it naturally
2) The lack of eyelashes which would have improved her look and are present in other ME asari
3) The feeling of a Sera 2.0 which would instakill my interest for that character (here i'm referring more to the character than the physical appearance).
Again very minor things based on impressions.

I don't really have strong negative feelings about this Asari.
That said, she does look weird. The eyebrows are not supposed to be there, and the goofy face tells me that she isn't the badass reincarnation
of Tela Vasir that I was hoping for.

People are being negative about it? I only saw positive responses. Then again this is the first time I have come to this forum in quite some time...

It was one tiny little snippet of the character!

This. She does not look as attractive as Aria or Liara or Shiala or Samara or Tevos. She does not even look as badass as Aria or Samara or Tela Vasir. Additionally, Asari only have makeup eyelashes, not real ones.
If she ends up being an Asari version of Sera, this is what I will do to her:-

True I recognize they are small things subject to change. We are discussing on what we have otherwise we would be only here when substantial news are released. I agree many here (me included) are nitpicking but that's what you do in a fan-forum ![]()

Is she even a squadmate?
If previous Bioware game trailers are any indication, than yes, she most likely is.

I'm not really sure either. I think both characters are fine.
Least someone agrees

Because this is the only piece of game footage we have seen for some time, and are likely to see for a while. So we're going to pick apart every little detail of it. Yes, the game is still in development and the asari character could change completely. Does that mean that we shouldn't provide feedback on what we've seen in the current video? Then no one would have anything to say, since technically everything in that video could change. Why bother coming to the forums and discussing anything, then?
Also, if the one line said by the human woman is not actually said by the woman on screen, that is professional trolling. Why would one assume that a line said right after viewing a character would be said by someone completely different? In that case, there's no point to watching trailers/sneak peaks at all because everything in them is likely to be false.

But who knows, maybe BioWare is still tweaking some of the looks. She could look different in a couple of months.

I don't understand why everyone's acting like it's the end of the world because a character has eyebrows...
Because we are diehard ME fans with too much free-time on our hands and not enough information to satiate our thirst for a new ME adventure. ![]()

I'm a pretty huge Mass Effect fan, but if the lore states that Asari don't have hair, it kind of contradicts itself because they've always had eyelashes...Because we are diehard ME fans with too much free-time on our hands and not enough information to satiate our thirst for a new ME adventure.

Well apparently they used to have eyelashes but not eyebrows. Logical? Nope but that what was established in previous games and now we are seeing the exact opposite.

If Bioware is smart they'll ignore the usual BSN hate and keep working on fleshing out the character if she is a squadmate
Seriously this is the place with countless hate threads for even the most niche character traits, just look at the 5+ different threads that popped up cause of her eyebrows.
Frankly I like her but I'm one of those rare fans who doesn't hate any BW characters. Good news though is Bioware is using mocap now, yet no one congratulated them for that
