No, we got a 5 second clip of an Asari.
So people gave their opinions and now I'm not allowed to post in that thread anymore.

Did we get given anything else to talk about in terms of squad mates?

very true we know that Liara was a young Asari at least by Asari standards anyway.

The technology evolved and the characters evolved with it. I'm pleased about how she looks, and her facial animation is great, I can't wait to see more. At least she has a real original face and she's not a clone like the rest of her species. I would be happy to see an asari that is not "perfect" or 100% "physically attractive" for a change (even if honeslty, asari always let me totally cold during the trilogy... lack of mandibles I suppose XD).

Negative Comments are bound to come, just like positive ones. I think the new Asari looks unique and thats fine, but others want something else. Just move on

That's a lot of assumptions at work, all of which may be wrong, but that's why there has been so much discussion about her appearance. People would probably be talking about it less if it was confirmed she's not a companion. It's also partly because there's not much else to discuss since the trailer revealed very little, and the BSN's tendency to favor topics related in any way yo the game's romances.
That her appearance is slightly unusual, both making her look young and androgynous, is also part of it. Some have wondered if she may not be an adult character at all and whether there are now juvenile characters, or whether she's an adult but androgynous or trans. Even if she isn't a companion that's going to be a big topic if either one of those pan out.

For the love of god.
The level on complains ( for not use other words) about this type of post, is crazy.
There is no standard for how a asari should look like. She maybe be a badass or a more manly Asari, we have met Asaris like this like Liara Feather that she speak in a more manly way.
Really ppl stop complain bc you guys didnt get what you want. From some of this responds i get some want the Liara 2.0, others want a sexy godess, other want a biotic goddess....
Reallyyyy...........

Asari have tentacle heads. Sorry, but I like my women with hair. Long, flowing hair. You don't see many guys out having relations with octopi. I wish we could have Miranda back...
That's what you think..
But OT, while the new asari may not be outright hot like Liara, I think she looks alright and kinda quirky. We're also forming an impression out of a few frames of video when in fact she might turn out looking different in the final game. Couldn't care less about the eyebrows though.

I don't have a problem with the character. Nothing is certain yet, she may be a party member, she may be a side character, or she might even be an enemy (and we're the ones pointing a gun at her).
I didn't even notice the lack of eyelashes the first time I saw the trailer, but that can be reasoned away that ME:A is still in alpha and the game is still quite a ways from being finished. Don't care about the eyebrows, it's a very minor change at worst.

I'll give that Asari a fair chance, should she be a squadmate. Battle is the Great Redeemer. It is the fiery crucible in which true heroes are forged. The one place where all men truly share the same rank, regardless of what kind of parasitic scum they were going in.

the dlc where doctor michael has to marry and sleep with an asari for real in our world. he can't complete it because he likes his women with long flowing hair and men don't have sex with octopuses.

Guys,
Bio keeps changing the character's looks all the time. Dragon Age is a perfect example. Is it really surprising that the studio came up with a new look?
Facial animations, which many of the Fandom here, wanted, automatically requires a "different" facial construction. We will become attached to them in no time. And, don't take that Asari animation at face value. It was a deliberate creation to show off the new found facial expressions.
Having just said that, I can't see Turians, Salarian or Krogans benefiting from this new tech.

Just something thats been bugging me over the last 24 hrs... why are people being so negative about the new asari just based on her look? For all we know she could look completely different in the released game and she could be the most badass character in the squad if she is part of it so how can you base your opinions on a character based on how she looks? And i noticed that the female human is getting a lot of love just because she said one line... it might not even be hers... they might have just put it in there for the purpose of the trailer because we dont even see her say it as the picture has blacked out by then...
Because BSN is all about 1) prematurely jumping to conclusions and 2) becoming upset about the premature conclusions they themselves have jumped to and 3) trying to convince others to become upset over it all as well. In short, misery loves company... self-made misery even moreso. ![]()
I agree... at this stage we know nothing about her, other than (for the moment at least) she has eyebrows.
