I assume he's referring to this, from the leaks

Of course, it might have changed a bit from then.

These missions will include a variety of thematically appropriate objectives, like defending a Settlement against Khet attacks, or recovering a Remnant artefact off of a planet before an outlaw gang gets there first

"General, another one of our settlements needs you help!"

This is exactly what the survery leak says will be the case.

I'll believe it when I see it.

All sorts of crazy promises have been made in the past.  Including about MP

PRetty sure that's Zappy, since Zip died in a freak accident on Tuchanka, or some nonsense like that.

****... I'm sorry. All Krogan look the same, you know?

PvP should not be what bio or mass effect is about. Horde mode is fine. I wanna play PvP I'll go play some call of duty.

Probably mean combat and controls will be built with MP in mind and SP fans will be left feeling like they're playing an MMO solo.

I admire your optimism.

Anyway I hope MEA's multiplayer is better than Mac Walter's story in ME3.

I must say I do hope that multiplayer is 'seamless' in the sense that it is not disruptive or impactful to the player only interested in single player.

Even if there are points in the game that allow access to multiplayer, they should be discrete and not 'nag' at the single player.

Just as I'm looking forward to multiplayer, players such as @Iakus (who I suspect has less of a preference for it, from past discussions) have every right not to be saddled and pestered by multiplayer, or to have it sticking out like a sore thumb in the gameworld.

So 'seamless' in all senses of the word please.

I would agree that MP should have no direct impact on SP.

Though that's not going to stop the forums from claiming that everything they don't like about SP is the fault of MP existing.

Ty for explaining. I prefer PvP, but I'll try that if I can master the game controls by the time Andromeda is out :)

It's quite fun in many peoples opinion, challenging enough to start but a good time.

My first ME3 multiplayer match I essentially cowered behind some concrete pillars for much of the game, on Giant, on Bronze...

(It got better...)

I would love to get a ME:A multiplayer demo like we did with ME3. SW Battlefront MP demo was fun too, even getting curbstomped by Imperial AT-ATs on Hoth, you felt like participating in Star Wars movie.

Winning the first gold game was epic.

I think seamless means that the game-play mechanics will be identical (just as in ME3). It might also mean that the campaign characters will be represented in the mutiplayer. ME3 characters had the same look/voices, but were not directly related to the single-player characters.

During the demo my first gold run was against Geth. It involved me playing Human Engineer cowering behind a counter as I spammed Overload and prayed that my Combat Drone would keep any aggro off me.

By the end of support I was biotic charging Praetorians like a boss.

"Hey, Ryder! A colony world needs your help!"

Keelah... don't worry about it, they look the same to me as well. That's just what Zap or Zip, or whatever always says.

I liked PlanetSide 2 because it was what a Mass Effect PvP could be. That said, while I'm not opposed to the idea of PvP multiplayer, I don't really wish for it either.

I've never played this type of game set-up before, so I will be curious to try it if I can. An incentive to L2P, heh.

Didn't they mention some kind of strike missions you could either play yourself or send NPCs to handle? Maybe those will have the option to be played as a MP match... during your SP campaign.

There is some leaked info that mentions going on strike missions either in SP or MP. I wouldn't put much stock in it yet though. It could very easily go the way of Shepard's indoctrination in ME3 or letting the village in Crestwood burn to the ground in DA:I and get cut out.

I assume he's referring to this, from the leaks

Active Strike Team Missions:

When you encounter a Strike Team mission in the Single-Player mode, you can leave your Strike Team at their base and decide to tackle the mission yourself with your multiplayer roster of characters. You also have the option of tackling the mission by yourself, or recruiting up to three friends to play with you. The more friends you bring, the greater the challenge and the greater the reward. These missions will play out using the Next Mass Effect's multiplayer Horde mode (more details on this later). These missions will include a variety of thematically appropriate objectives, like defending a Settlement against Khet attacks, or recovering a Remnant artefact off of a planet before an outlaw gang gets there first. By taking an active role in strike team missions, you can earn special Single-player rewards in addition to the usual multiplayer specific characters, weapons, weapon mods, and pieces of equipment which can be customised between missions. Additionally, players who join another person's Strike Team mission will receive bonus in-game currency and multiplayer XP for helping others with their missions.

Of course, it might have changed a bit from then.

I'm down for this. Though, that would mean having friends who would also play the game… Hopefully this game will be cross-platform (i can dream).

A question no-one can answer for now is, if I ignore all the MP prompts (like, send NPC teams there, similar to DAI wartable), and just play it later, where will the rewards go? To the SP character I played last? To all of them, past and future? To none of them?
