1) The group behind the project must trust some races less than others.

 

2) The Reapers could embed indoctrinated people onto The Ark.

 

Since going to Andromeda happens before the end of The Reaper War, using Cerberus MO--information is shared on a need to know basis--is the wise move.

 

Due to reason #1 I'm expecting some races to be outright excluded.

 

All council races are a lock.  Initially I thought Salarians could be left out in the cold, but they're masters at hacking and finding information.

 

It's the non-council Citadel races and non-Citadel races that are at risk for being axed.

 

As of now I definitely don't expect to see the Geth and Batarians.  Inviting them along would be a major liability.

I'm fine with bringing them along but prefer other races for squadmates since roster space is rumored to be at only 7.

They better bring along every race from our cycle. Too much of Mass Effect is being thrown away as it is, so at least keep what's left.

Yes, why would anyone invite the most advanced citadel space species who also field the best soldiers in the galaxy (qualitatively)...truly a mystery.

Agreed. Humans, Asari, Salarians, Turians are a given. Volus, Elcor, Hanar and Drell I can see buying their way in. It'd be immensely unrealistic if a Krogan, a Batarian, a Vorcha, a Geth and a Quarian ALL manage to stumble their way into a seat.

The Krogan somehow miraculously pull it off.

 

Based off that Explorers Wanted poster Krogans are seen as highly capable explorers by the galactic community.  I think it's because they can handle all kinds of extreme environments.

 

We also see Krogan everywhere in the trailer.  This suggests Bioware is giving them a very important role.

I tihnk Volus, Elcor, Hanar, Batarian, Vorcha, and Geth are all screwed.

During Rachni Wars Krogan dominantly defeated the greatest threat thus far the Rach.  Their unique biology allowed them to survive on toxic Rachni worlds.

 

Krogans are people you want on your side when trekking into a great unknown galaxy.  They suddenly become one of the most valuable races to pool explorers

Not the biggest fan of Asari but I mostly stopped arguing for excluding them.

 

Simply put they were well represented in the latest trailer.  Safe to say they're in Andromeda.

Krogans are people you want on your side when trekking into a great unknown galaxy. They suddenly become one of the most valuable races to pool explorers

The counter argument here is that it took the united forces of the Council Races to stop them doing the same to everyone else.

And even that's was only a short term solution without the Genophage.

Then again that could also be a good argument for bringing them.

I really do hope that all the MW races make it to Andromeda. I'm perfectly okay with not having a squadmate from every race. I just still want to see them around.

I think batarians are kinda unlikely. Aside from pirates, raiders and slavers, most of them are kept in their star system and that's even mentioned in the codex. I can see quarians for technological capabilities though. If you're in another galaxy you're going to want the best technological and ship specialists and they have some of the best the galaxy has to offer.

Rumored number of squadmates is 6 and we'll have a family member in it alongside drax(krogan) and Cora(human).

I'm going to be disheartened if Bioware decided to just cut like half of the species out, just because it doesn't make complete sense with this hole Ark...thing. I get that there's going to be newly introduced races in Andromeda, but Bioware established a universe with their original species. It's not going to feel a whole lot like "Mass Effect" if they ditch half of everyone. First things first: the Asari, Salarians, Turians are all obviously coming along probably maybe I hope.

 

I can understand the Geth not coming along - they did a whole lot of naughty things. And also the red ending. It's not canon, but it was an ending. Apparently the Geth don't like the red one? I forgot why.

 

Vorcha, Batarians: these are the ugly, evil, gross, outcast races that everyone hates. They can rot in the Milky Way. Who cares, right?

 

But the Quarians, Krogan, Drell, Volus, Hanar, Elcor - they have to be in Andromeda. Unless Bioware has created like 6+ new races as well as a convincing explanation for that whole alien language translation thing, I can't see this game with them. Oh, and uh, I honestly just want to see a next-gen Quarian.

Well i can see the batarians getting cut since many see them as pirates, raiders and slavers so trust will be a issue here with letting them on the ark.

 

The yahgs violent nature and with killing all the delegation no way are the council gonna take them.

 

Rachni,vorcha i can see them getting cut.

 

Raloi isolate themselves on turvess but if the arks leave before ME3 they could make it.

I can only see the geth appearing as unsanctioned stowaway programs that installed themselves on some other non-geth hardware. Save for possibly recruiting Legion, there are absolutely no [potential] geth allies to speak of until much later in the war, which by then should be too late as the ark is long gone.

Supposedly, for a project such as ark, arrangements would need to be made with selected species governments. You can't simply abduct needed people (unless you are Cerberus). Several thousands, or better, hundred thousands people from all walks of life, from each species. Arks, constructed and filled with such secrecy that Shadow Broker, Quarian Admiral and Krogan King decided not to tell their best friend ever about it, if they even knew.
Which basically means, council species only. Maybe someone brought their pet krogan, but that's it.

WE, the players like and get a lot of exposure Tali, Shepard has history with the Batarians, in universe as whole Quarians are at best on even level with Batarians and require far more special needs.
