I'm hoping the next DA game will allow this and take the concept further. Skyrim and The Witcher 3 allow mounted combat, but this is kinda boring because all you do this ride around and hack at people. I'd like it if DA4 would allow you to not only fight people while riding a horse but also allow you to fight people on horseback. You can do this while you are riding a horse or on foot. I think it would be interesting if you can knock people off their mounts, or pull them off their mounts with your grappling chain.
Allowing different classes to do different things on horseback would also be interesting. For example, a warrior can joust people or participate in jousting tournaments, and a rogue can also shoot arrows from horseback. In fact, letting your companions ride mounts and have them do certain moves on horseback would also be interesting. For example, a rogue or mage can ride in circles casting spells or shooting arrows while your tank characters engage in melee combat with a boss character.
