Mass Effect. as for real We know there has to be something out there. It makes no sense that we are the only ones. We are proof. The dinosaurs are proof. We see habitable planets in the trailer.

i think it could technically take years of travelling from solar system to solar system to find the first planet that is suitable to human life

I was thinking just that.
It kinds of take the urgency of finding lands to colonize when you already have your self sufficient metropolis with you.
Hopefully there is going to be some problem with the Ark , because I'm going to faint from the thrill and excitement of being a pioneer who mainly need to find fuel for an already build civilisation.

We aren't going to Andromeda to float around in an Ark. We are going to find homes, planets and/or moons, to colonize. Sitting around for a few years, wasting time, before getting to it would be out of the question.

The population in the Ark will begin expanding immediately, as people start waking up and "getting busy". Even with restraints imposed upon reproduction, it would happen. There are all sorts of other issues.

Most of all, that would be a boring ass game.

I love the Citadel, so, no hate from me!

Yeah, I could see it as a hub like the citadel. I would guess we start on the human ark and then maybe later in the game have to go to the other arks to get missions, new companions, etc.

I am thinking that when we get to Andromeda and as the Milky Way races try get a foothold that the arks will serve as hubs kind of like mini citadels for the Milky Way species as they try to get established.  I wonder if we will be able to visit the other arks during the course of the game or if we just visit our ark.  I wouldn't be suprised if the arks get attacked either from a hostile Andromeda species or even from a rogue breakaway Milky Way faction.

Arks (as in: several?) - you really think there was enough time to build several colony-ships (even one would probably take a lot of ressources and time, even if work-crews (supported by Geth and possibly the freed Rachnii!) worked around the clock in shifts)

Still, I guess that the Ark (note: I'd not have a problem if there were several and they'd even look different...hell, one early mission might be to check if all the arks arrived safely (of course one or two are missing and you need to look for them)...but I don't think so!) will be kind of like the Citadel (hell, they might even have build it that way - to defend a new colony and act as a meeting-place with new cultures!)...I hope we can explore that thing :)

greetings LAX

You know, considering the Citadel was a mass relay, maybe this is how we jump around greater distances in the game.  Each of the three ark ships went to a different part of Andromeda and established a three-point mass relay system between them.

Of course, I'm currently on board with the black ark theory and also suspecting that two of the ark ships were destroyed by Reapers before leaving the Milky Way, but it would be interesting if things panned out this way as well.

That's actually a pretty cool idea. I've been thinking the Citadel angle for awhile, but before we knew there were other Arks I wasn't thinking actual relay.

Interesting that N7 day teaser showed only one Ark, while latest showed three Arks undocking in hurry - take note how they start moving when shuttles haven't even reached them. So there might be some kind of emergency, which wasn't shown yet.

Possible. It may well be that the 'start' of our journey is during the fall of Earth and Sol, right at the start of ME3. Not everyone would be happy, but it'd explain why it wasn't mentioned in ME3 (where the people who knew about it think it's just something else lost in the war).

Ooh that would be pretty cool set up our own little relay network in Andromeda.   Doubt that would be happen but that would be really cool.  I tend to think they reverse engineered the black arks myself.

Speaking of little relay networks, what ever did happen to the Conduit in the end? Can't remember.

The ME1 Conduit or ME3 Conduit?
