Well from what I have heard we will be pretty green compared to Shepard.  Same for our squad.  Shep and crew were veterans.  We are trained but inexperienced.

I'd say we aren't experienced exploring and leading people on the ark.

I'd almost throw Jack in there, but her immaturity was more about her woobieness than being 'cusp of adolescence.'

what if Bioware is dramatically changing its dynamic to people who were born after 1994?

 

I'd literally feel orphaned if Bioware did this.

I think they were referring about having less experience and 'fame' then the team and protagonist in the trilogy.

Even then, we had our share of young companion already in ME. Liara and Tali were young (Liara for her species) in the ME (and ME2-ME3 as well). As Jack and Grunt. Ashley wasn't even 30 in ME, as Jacob (i think).

it's more about the player and crew aren't the galaxy's heroes yet at the start, they're noobs. that hasn't got to do anything with age.
