Ah, sure, that's how game development works. Why don't you actually do it if that's so easy.

Eh I know it can be challenging of course, I used to make mods and have friends play them and of course they don't play the way you expect them too.

But that wasn't my point there, the actual viability of the finished product. I'm just saying they were built on a kind of open door policy where people would just be passionate about the same things and now it's all about meeting specific agendas or deadlines or whatever.

Not really relevant, but Tempest gives me serious submarine vibes. She looks like some exotic sea creature blended with an SR71 Blackbird.

Looking at it from that angle, I think you just made me go from disliking the ship's design to liking the ship's design. Now it reminds me of a sea creature like a whale and I love whales!

Space whale ship!

Don't ruin the SR71 Blackbird for me by comparing it to the Tempest.

/Hands you a copy of Sled Driver

Read it if you haven't already and all will be well :)

The Tempest is pretty sleek, though. Very nice lines and I think I may like it better than the Normandy.

Be like me and stop feeding the inane troll that has zero gripe on reality or common sense, it's probably best for everyone's sanity. =D

They probably showed it at EA play so that people didn't freak when they didn't see it and to generate a little bit of buzz. I know I hadn't really given it any thought since the last trailer hit and I hadn't even been around the forums until this new trailer, so it's probably to help get/keep people interesting untill the info dumps into the fall, like they're saying. Hell, may not even be their overall decision if EA's telling them to keep it under wraps more like the rest of their marketing plan.

We did see gameplay from Battlefield 1, but it's also closer to release than ME:A. Could be EA or Bioware is afraid of too much backlash until the project is a bit too far in to really change but from what little we've seen so far, it looks good to me.

If I had to take a guess, I would say they're worried about backlash of changed content after what happened with Inquisition.

It could be as well they're looking at Bethesda and thinking they want to mimic the Fallout 4 marketing plan even though it's not to the letter at this point. It wouldn't be the first time they took notes from Bethesda, either, and looking at what other people in the industry are doing to see if it's something that works well is typically a good idea. Bethesda takes notes from BioWare too.

I know it didn't work great for me personally but who knows, maybe this will work out better for their marketing in general. I'm hardly the target market of their marketing campaign since I'm already invested into actively seeking out information on the game and am likely to buy the game barring any major issues between now and launch.

Has more like a shark style body or maybe something similar to me if we're going for aquatic life, or a ray/squid maybe.

Though the other poster is right, has a slight Blackbird feel to it because of how it's designed. Going to call mine Habu :P

My first thought was that it looked like a shark! Without any references!

I was so excited to see other people independently said the same. Yay, I can identify shapes!

Well you misunderstand, I meant destined only as in they possessed the skill for it, I mean, she actually did it make no mistake.

That might be a unique definition of destined.

Well destiny can mean, they are slated to become X despite no talent.

Whereas, it can mean, they have so much talent, they are going to success regardless.

You can just tell looking at someone that they are very  powerful or powerless.

Yeah when people say "Destined for greatness" what they mean is the person had the personality that was never going to let history pass by without leaving their mark while also possessing the skills needed to actually make it happen.

Most heroes you see in a story are going to have at least a little bit of that in them. Even the reluctant hero will show some signs of that.

That's true.

My irritation has more to do with the fact that it's not in keeping with the themes in Bioware games.

Heck Patrick Weekes outright stated he could not beat KOTOR, the simple fact is that if you took the creme de la creme of the fans on this board here and put them into game design roles the product would be 4x superior to what "EA/Bioware" has in mind. If I had the authority I'd do that in a heartbeat and send all these game devs to the wayside.

Heh. Now I'm trying to figure out exactly who would end up being on that list. I'll nominate Sylvius. Bye-bye, voiced PC.

If any of the characters are below the age of 29 it will seriously trigger me.  I can't feel this old!

I like the idea of a younger cast. Start off kind of weak and afraid, but slowly grow into a bad ass.

I'm 27, and I've never thought of myself as an adult. I don't really understand this topic.

I think it's less to do with that and more with the ever rising trend of quarter life crisis.

I've been going through an end-of-youth crisis myself. Every day I wish I could go back in time and fix some thing, but alas.

Mods vs. full games. It's like comparing a piece of bread to a loaf of french bread. It's a variance of degrees.

As someone who is 2 years from 30, please don't make me feel creepy hitting on 20-year-old teammates. Please.

Also I don't empathize with children.

  Feeling concern

You better shack up with 'em now cause when you're 40 it won't be an option.

Probably like (people whose names I'm saying don't freak because of "name" I'm just randomly picking people that I think would make a good game based on comments) you, In Exile, Dean_the_Young, aiobhealfae, Natashina, Aimi, Lady Artifice, Cyonan, German Soldier, Straykat, Aren.

Then Lady Luminous, DeathRobot (All the chicken you need) and Gilli-chan could play-test it.

United Academy Servo would be in charge of the business element.

I'm coming around just a bit on this age issue. It seems that Bioware started her young so we can get the full heroes journey with her. I suspect her arc will span a trilogy and she will age up throughout the series. Additionally, if Ryder is given appropriate levels of authority given her experience level, say command of her squad only at the beginning, and reports to competent officers, I'll be content. I just do not want to see a new Trek scenario where 20s are running the show.

ETA: @shec: Awwww, now I want a pretty whale song for my ship!

I believe they were ******* with us. We saw him in trailer with two of our confirmed squadmembers and on the ship by the Tempest control panel in the 2015 one, it was an said TMP. We saw him with dust on his armor and in leaked images. we saw him at gameplay leak spot in trailer with Krogan. male protag. They said at E3 2014 or comic con that he had something to do with N7. In the leak the antagonist is a guy without the N7 and it hasn't been wrong. Its probably the guy thrown off the platform. N7 means too much to bioware for them not to make the protagonist N7. We saw someone in white in trailer. Another suit we can wear.

@The Dystopian Hound

The N7 is the Andromeda version of Nhilus from ME1, he introduces us to an introductory training program to get us ready, then he dies. And we have to make it on our own and become that hero on our own.

Then we kind of inherits the ship and crew over time as we impress the right people to get promoted and accepted. Help the crew and squadmates with their issues and loyalty missions and they accept you. Help the Krogan with whatever Krogan issues there might be and you got a happy krogan squaddie. etz
