Why is there such an abundance on unique swords and virtually no other weapon? Ok, there is a decent variety on daggers, but with all other weapons you don't seem to have a great choice?

And it just sometimes seems a bit odd how you acquire items that are rather powerful. The "key to the city" in Orzammar is acquired by reading 4 journal entries, whereas if you kill a Revenant, you get a health poultice and a diamond worth 75 silver...strange...

...don't get me wrong, swords are nice and well...but the game is greatly balanced in so many regards that it seems a shame to not be as balanced in choice of weaponry...if you like maces, short bows, even crossbows, you are at an disadvantage...

There's a fine array of bows. Though I will admit that other weapon types (such as daggers, staves, etc) are lacking.

In terms of 'swords' I'm not sure if you're including two-handed weapons or just one-handed. As I think the two-handed weapons (or at least good ones) are hard to find. Or are only found through confusing side-missions (coughcough Yusaris coughcough).

I don't play tanks all that much, but I did do a One-Handed/Shield PT and it was remarkably easy to find good weapons. (Ended up with: Starfang + Fade Wall.)

The DLCs are the best way to get gear that isn't focused solely on the Warrior Class. Awakening and Soldier's Peak (provided you're high level when you start the DLC) probably provide some of the better equipment.

Also I suppose it almost makes sense that the more powerful weapons would be found in odd ways. Ways that the player wouldn't expect, and might just ignore. Not knowing how easy it is to obtain them, and trying to look for more convoluted ways.

All-in-all, it does kind of suck that the Warriors seem to get the better gear. Though with so many people loving to play tanks I can see why BioWare focused more of their effort on tank-related equipment.

I would have liked to get more critical chance/damage weapons like Veshialle that didn't have class restrictions for rogue or warrior. Two handed weapons are best for shapeshifters, but there's a shortage of Veshialle type weapons that have good critical chance percentages with 2h.
