The Citadel's Unified Banking Act obviously carries no weight in Andromeda. That may cause problems for trade and at the player level for buying upgrades. I wonder how that will be managed by the game. Back to barter? Selling our technology? Still using credits for trade among the Arks?

Language is another problem. But there was a thread about that earlier.

What do you think?

They'll keep things as familiar as possible.  Credits essentially allowed citizens to take currency from there own planet and convert them into a currency that is accepted at a flat rate across all planets within Citadel space (and even the terminus systems showing how popular they are for conducting trade).

However we have no idea what interactions we will have with new species so that limits how far we can speculate.  If Volus are a part of the Ark they are sure to find a way to integrate an exchange rate for new currencies into the credit system or setup a barter system, economics are there strong point.

There will be a lot of writing required to make it a believable setting. No doubt it can be done since it's like ME1 starting kinda fresh.

Hope the Volus are coming then

I don't want to be bogged down in trade negotiations or merging into the new economy.

There's only one system that makes any sense untill the colonist manage to claw themselves out of survival mode and  society properly solidifies with cities and infrastructure.

That's right.

Welcome to communism, comrade!

(no, seriously. It's the only system that makes sense in the early stages  )

If my job is to find a new home for humanity, I expect to fill out a requisition form and receive the equipment I ordered. It's ridiculous to save a few colonist butts, then get charged for the ammo/clips you expended.

Can't wait to hear the quartermaster's excuse.

I would prefer to be able to exchange discovered resources for equipment.

It's still going to be credits. In the lore, they will likely be vastly different in origin, appearance, and nature, but they will still be referred to as credits by the Milky Way species.

That's the way I see it. Same name, different thing. And we potentially agree to using some different name from the second game onward, to distinguish them from Milky Way creds.

And yes, I'm presuming another Trilogy.
