Why? Having more companions diluted the writing content between them. ME2 had far too many. DAI as well, considering that we got three other major characters in the advisors outsite the team. I liked both games' companions, but having more companions isn't necessarily better.

I agree with you, but I think part of why ME2 is so well revered is because it has so. damn. many. characters. Basically, if you couldn't find 2-3 characters that you really loved in that game, the problem was with you.

So people were disappointed when the roster was greatly reduced in ME3. All the "deeper relationships" are useless if you're not on board with the smaller crew you got.

It really is considering all the leaked info is basically true at this point.

Yeah, but if I said that someone would be bitching about how it hasn't been confirmed. Apparently tho I can't win either way. Touche, forum board.

I'm gonna give this a guess.  :D

Possible 7 squad members:

1 Human female (blonde, buxom and petite)
2 Human male (Obligatory)
3 Krogan male (Drack)
5 Salarian male (As seen in EA Play Trailer)
6 Synthetic male (I trust the OP, as for his source, well see)
7 Turian female (Garrus's popularity will ensure the species shows up, and turians are an important council race, but I hope it's a female this time)

It seems the next thing to consider is romance, so giving everyone options:

Human female (interested in men and women)
Human male (interested in men and women)
Krogan male (interested in men only)
Asari (interested in women only)
Salarian male (not interested)
*Synthetic male (interested in women only)
Turian female (interested in men only)

*Probably a David 8 (Cerberus made) and Shaw (Ryder) type deal, with a great climax ;)

Spoiler

I hope this is true because it will ****** off sooo many people with the asari thing. However, I don't think it will be. My guess is that some romances will not be squaddies. So the asari will probably be for both. Though I agree 7 is too few for a game that has a lot of races. Which is exactly why bioware should have left most of them behind. A few races that are well thought out and unique are much better than 293839483484 races which is what we have now.

It was strange how BroShep didn't bother to bang the redhead MILF nurse

Considering the dynamics, I hope they push it up to 8 at least, so we get a native species in there too, otherwise, based on the confirmed and unconfirmed info so far it's more or less what we would expect, it seems.

Trailer N7 Ryder is too alpha.

The way Ryder and the Krogan interrogated that guy was too boss.

I'd be sooooooooo glad. One less alien to worry about. Then it's just making sure the hypothetical turian female is not romanceable and it'd be just perfect!  :P

If it's 7 then that would be super disappointing.

Bloody hell, DA gives us at least 8 per game (DA2 being the lowest) and the companion have way more dialogue with each and in side quests than the average Mass Effect game.

I understand that, and I love ME2 characters. The content between them was to diluted through.

I just hope the aliens aren't just walking talking codices again; especially not the old ones. I'm most interested in the potential synthetic squadmate. I'm hoping that he or she is an android rather than a robot. I'm sure I will learn to love (or love to hate) all of them though. The worst thing would be for any of them to be just "meh" or some cheap facsimile of a previous squad member.

I have faith though.

I hope people are looking forward to Cerberus in Andromeda.

Lol!! Imagine this: the ark, tempest and crew are all funded and handpicked by Cerberus. As soon as you wake up and look around, there are Cerberus logos everywhere and you are greated by an Illusive man AI

What ? I don't remember that info... interesting ~ but "golem-like-guardian"... I'm not happy that kind of character take a spot on the team, really :/

Cyborg would be more interesting than having AI again, not looking forward to recycled "does this unit have a soul" story.

Shepard was basically a cyborg once they were done putting him back together. All of his bio-tech was discreet though so he looked like any other human unless you went completely renegade and his circuity started to magically show through... (stupid mechanic).
