Dammit people stop hugging Tali!

And I say that as someone who likes the character!

If you don't hug her you get some great dialogue that shows Shepard trying to console her whilst she digs deep and reveals a load of really personal stuff that really fits the moment.

If you take the paragon interrupt you get the always awkward looking hug animation, Tali bizarrely just gets over the fact that she found her dad's corpse and the whole scene becomes disjointed.

Next time you play the mission do a save just before and try out both, I'm sure many of you will agree.

P. S. I'm NOT a monster!

Yeah. After so many playthroughs, I generally know what interrupts do what. There definitely are some that I intentionally don't do because I prefer the outcome, like the renegade threaten to push that guy out the window where Shepard pushes him against the glass hard enough to form cracks and asks how long he thinks he'll take to his the ground instead of actually pushing him out the window. Or not interrupting Mordin because I actually like the way he rambles and like hearing all his weird ideas about how the Collectors are taking entire colonies, letting him actually brain storm before telling him we have samples. And yes, the Tali one even on a romance. Hell, I rarely don't even use persuasion at times because I prefer how it goes that way. Like when you wake Grunt, picking all paragon with him not using persuasion makes paragon Shepard shoot him while making it clear it was on him. It shows paragon Shepard to a tee, offer one hand and arm the other and not being afraid to shoot if there's no other option (showing paragon Shepard isn't soft). I also don't always take the interrupt with Zaeed to punch him, some of my Shepard's are a little too in control of their emotions to punch him and I do like the alternate dialogue that is said if you don't punch him. Or the one on Omega where FemShep gets told the Archangel recruitment office isn't the strippers office, her not interrupting makes her look both professional and badass (the Batarian then says "wow, not even a smile" with a tone of being impressed). Or the Krogan headbutt, you actually have a good way of putting him down with persuasion instead of the headbutt and arguably make him look weaker for it than the headbutt does.

So yeah, people? Not all interrupts are good. Sometimes, rarely, even not using persuasion is good if you prefer the standard way of getting through like with Grunt. You don't always have to hit the glowing button that suddenly appears on the screen, and you don't even need to always hit the red or blue colored dialogue in a conversation either. Granted, I take far more persuasions that are offered than interrupts.

I don't hug her and I give the evidence to the Admirals.

Woah andy6915, some of that stuff I didn't even know was possible!

Definitely have to do a bit more playing around with options next time I play, especially that shooting Grunt one!

Sorry miserybot, I thought I was in the ME2 forum. My mistake.

Yeah, I did my 3rd run largely ignoring interrupts and persuasions unless it fit my character too much to not take them. Best time, and you discover lots of new things! Definitely worth it to not always use the 'I win' card :D

I'll have to try that then, although I think I'll struggle not to do it.

I actually tried ignoring the interrupt in Li's cabin after Thessia bites it. Frankly I preferred the ending where she pulls it together and works to save what she can instead of wallowing in grief and sadness.

I like switching the combination of dialogue options and interrupts up each run, it helps stave off the games becoming stale. Does mean I mod Paragon and Renegade points in ME2, I hate not having options available even if I end up not using them.

The only interrupts I will never do again are the damn pullups in the Citadel DLC.

I remember reading someone on here saying that they tried one short to see if it got any particular comment (it didn't). That's dedication!

Don't bother posting in the ME1 and ME2 forums since they have less activity in them. Usually the most recent game's forum becomes the main forum for all three games. No one really cares, 'cause we're all nerds.

I don't, that's another one of those "magic button press solves major trauma" moments for me. The end of that scene captures her emotions at that moment really well if you don't take the interrupt.

Playing scenes the same way in every playthrough would quickly become dull. So sometimes I hug her, sometimes I don't. I even have playthroughs where I don't do the mission at all and she takes her chances on the Collector base.

I got trapped for a while doing the same thing each time. Keeps the games fresh when you mix it up.
