The reason I just wanted to make another thread about all this food stuff, is to avoid getting other threads locked if they get too derailed. No idea if it'll stay here or work, but had to try.
SassaMFG's tarts (torte?) look good, and similar to some of our salty/savoury pies/quiches.
And Nightman's garlic-chicken-spaghetti sounded really good -- already thought that when you mentioned it in some earlier thread.
Bauzabauza; never had horchata de Arroz (rice drink, says google) beffore, but looks like something I'll def try.
It's always intersting to read about the different foods people in their respective countries like and eat - and we're a culturally diverse bunch right on this forum. Might find something new and intriguing to try! But I'm a nerd, also a food nerd, so that's my excuse.
I usually operate on caffeine after waking up, then move onto water. A glass of an oat-based drink, Oatly, has become a staple here.
Definite must-haves for gaming, too.
Can't wait for the apple harvest early autumn, so can have organic, fresh, pressed apple juice from our own apples.
Someone was pointing out the cheeses in another thread, and lactose intolerance. I'll answer here if they happen to read this:
hard, matured cheeses are lactose free naturally, as most of the lactose is turned into lactic acid by curdling and the aging process, in short. So swiss, emmental, edam, gouda, parmesan, etc. are safer choices. Gimme some parmigiano reggiano with wheatfree pasta any day.
I'm lactose intolerant, as well. It's the fresher soft ones that I can't handle, unless they've been processed to be lactose free / very low-lactose. There are other things in cheeses that don't suit some people, I recall having some casein related discussion sometime earlier.
