Mac Walters said the only vehicle you can control is the Mako.

The Mako is the only vehicle but since it lacks any sort of weaponry it seems like it'll basically just be a thing to get from point A to B before getting out for the combat.
You could walk...
At least it won't flip over 5 times every time you hit a bump this time around, although ME1 M-35 Mako is fun to drive imo.

One does not simply "drive" the ME1 Mako.
You point it in the general direction of where you want to go and hope for the best.

Oooh! Does this mean you get full xp double xp if you step out of the Mako to shoot stuff? ![]()
It may sound nitpickity (what am I saying, this is BSN) but I'm hoping we get to see the interior of the new Mako, just like controls and seats and stuff, cause the original Mako we only saw a small part of the interior in a small story trailer for ME1. In game I'd hope for the new Mako to be more detailed, and be able to see how two squaddies and a krogan can fit inside.
If it handles well, no one will mind. It was a different story with first Mako which drove you instead the other way around. I was dreading every mandatory Mako section. They had Need For Speed team help them with controls this time so I'm hoping it handles at least decently, that alone would be a gigantic step up over Mako 1.
Is "no weapons" thing confirmed by devs directly? Or just based on trailer Mako with no turret visible? The Mako is the only vehicle but since it lacks any sort of weaponry it seems like it'll basically just be a thing to get from point A to B before getting out for the combat.

I can't speak for PC and XBox controls, but I thought it was pretty OK on PS3. The bounciness was problematic at times, but for the most part once I got the hang of it the Mako was a breeze. It was clear though that the devs were very new to vehicle controls.

Mass effect has never been much about the vehicles or their realism, it's been about the story. For vehicle simulation and space ships and grounds vehicles, you would need a space sim, like maybe Star Citizen when it's released. Maybe Squadron 42 which is the singleplayer storymode of Star Citizen. No idea id there will be ground vehicles in Squadron 42 but it did sound like they meant for it to be very inclusive in the experience. Guess I'll have to wait and see how it turns out.
Biowares strength has always been more about characters and story, not vehicles and bases etz. NM the ME1 outpost bases that all seemed the same... Still, wouldn't have prefered not to have them.

Xbox and PS3 controls are the same

Don't think it was ever confirmed, interestingly though the original leak mentioned multiple upgrades etc but nothing about guns/combat capabilities other than a radar
In Inquisition, the maps weren't planets either. It was feasible to use any sort of mount or just walk. I think the Mako is just how we'll be traversing planets faster.
That being said, how is Inquisition a good example of this? All of the mounts basically used the same set of animations. Only their visual appearance and sounds changed. The Mako will be customizable, so if this is a concern about flavoring, you will have options. However, a hoverbike is not a Mako, nor is it close. They would need different animations and physics for it, which is why all mounts in Inquisition were quadrupeds and all moved at about the same speed.

It's not confirmed yet. I hope they'll put weapons on it in some forms.
Hopefully we can still Goomba Stomp enemies. ![]()
Hopefully Bioware took note of the main reason that Arkham Knight was slammed, where the Batmobile was mandatory for 90% of the game and to complete objectives, rather than being something we could optionally use. It took something extremely cool and ruined it through over-exposure.

Pretty much what I did all the time in ME1, hide the Mako behind a rock and try to snipe rocket turrets or enemies from cover, or whittle down Thresher Maw health, then hop out and shoot it with a shotgun.
Seeing if I could complete the game without using the Mako (barring Thresher Maws) was a fun challenge.

Michael Gamble at Comic-Con 2014 specifically states the new Mako doesn't have a gun.
Unless it was replaced with the ability to do a drive-by with squad's weapons, this is very bad news for me. Mako was rather fun APC/tank hybrid. To see it turned into taxi is sad.Michael Gamble at Comic-Con 2014 specifically states the new Mako doesn't have a gun.
I legit had a dream last night about ME:A gameplay and the Mako had a cannon. Let's hope I have some sort of pre-cognition powers

I sure as hell hope so too. The only thing that made the original remotely passable was shooting at random stuff. ![]()

Need for Speed: Mass Effect Andromeda DLC!

Multiple mounts that were all 'horses', same animation.
And I'm glad the Need for Speed team worked on the Mako.
This time it'll be less bouncing and more speeding ![]()
