They wrote themselves into such a corner with ME3 that this "reboot" barely qualifies as one

Cant use the Normany so just design the Tempest to look like Normandy 3.0

Go to another galaxy but drag along every race from the Milky Way because they don't want to let them go

Cant use the Citadel so just design the Ark to be a mini Citadel

Cant use Shepard but still have an N7 character

Main character still working for an official organization

Its funny and sad at the same time. I was hoping for drastic changes, but I guess Mass Effect Andromeda is just going to turn out to be Mass Effect 4.

Yeah, ME3 endings torched the milky way setting and we're moving on from that crap pile that the devs aren't willing to disturb yet. I'm more than happy to move along with them. It's Mass Effect! New Mass Effect. Can't wait!

Really not happy with the asari "redesign", I see. I think you may be jumping the gun; you only saw ONE asari and she was pulling a derpy face and was wearing war paint. I'm sure they'll be plenty of sexy asari in Andromeda.

This isn't a reboot they are simply moving away from ME3's ending. It's a ME game so you'd expect that many things felt familiar to the long time players and giving some of what made this franchise amazing to the new players.

Your are spamming the forum with your threads as well it's getting annoying and if you don't like it don't buy it.

And yes ME3's ending wasn't the greatest thing in the world.

It's well established that they screwed up ME3 as it has been discussed ad nauseam.  The real question is whether people can remain open and objective enough to enjoy the next game.  Some people are bound and determined to hate it even if the game ends up really good.  I intend to weigh the game on its own merits and judge accordingly.

Yes i mostly concerned about companions. We of course have at least 2 humans or more. And mostly old races. At this point it feels like we have one new race as companion at best. We have so many interesting aliens and most companions are human  :(  i want all new aliens from Andromeda.

Meanwhile writing mass effect 3 ending.

The endings aren't a hornet's nest, people are not going to flip their **** over BioWare finally fixing the mistake they've made. The real reason why they're not touching the endings is because 1, the guy who wrote them still works at BioWare, 2, that guy is now the head honcho of the entire story department of the ME franchise and 3, that guy doesn't want his work invalidated just because millions of fans thought his work was complete crap.

just FYI:

-Shepard's story was meant to be a Trilogy so continuing to use Shepard as the main character would be considered lazy writing and using fan nostalgia to push the games.

-The fans wanted to explore new worlds and go back to the style of ME1 so how is listening to the fans the same as being written into a corner?

-The Normandy is Shepard's ship so please see the first point.

-It's not Bioware not wanting to let the Milky Way races go.... it's the fans, just look at all the threads complaining because there favourite race has not yet been featured in the promotional material.

-this isn't a "reboot".  For ME:A to be a reboot they need to wipe the slate completely clean like it never happened, however since the game is a continuation from the trilogy with certain characters and events being mentioned it is clearly not a reboot.

-You need a place to live and trade, hence the Ark.

If going to a whole new solar system with new races, whole new planets, no familiar places or characters, whole new mission and purpose is not drastic enough change for you, please tell us what would be.

Being a squadmates doesn't mean she's the only asari in the game.

Calling that character male doesn't change the fact she'll be female in the game. But hey, keep saying she's male, if that makes you feel better.

You might be right on the reason why the moved to Andromeda, but it's untrue that some people wouldn't be enrage if Bioware picked a canon or made a new canon ending. No matter what route the picked there'd have been people complaining about the choice Bioware made.

What people wanted was to explore the unexplored 99.99% of OUR galaxy, not some garbage star cluster in a far away piece of trash galaxy like the Andromeda.

A "reboot" is merely an attempt to revive a franchise/series that had previously "jumped the shark." or fallen into dormancy.  This qualifies - no doubt in my mind.  Will it work?  Remains to be seen, but I have a hunch that those that reveled in the idea that they had Bioware trapped in a corner with ME are getting a little nervous about their quarry having escaped.  Call it ME:A or ME4 or whatever you like... It's going forward... and I'm looking forward to it.

There are people that seems to like going to Andromeda and that don't want to be in the Milky Way though.

Oh, so we get the Androgynous one for an LI and every other Asaru is hot.....that's worse.

And by the same logic if calling him a man doesnt make him a man, then calling him she won't make him a woman either.

Actaully no.

A small amount of people wanted to explore the other 99.99% of our galaxy.

A small amount of people wanted to continue in the already known galaxy.

A small amount of people were really interested in the discovery of Andromeda.

A small amount of people were still making death threats.

A small amount of people just wanted something new.

A small amount of people wanted things to stay the same.

I'm pretty sure someone in there just wanted pie.

But anyway the point is you can't generalize what the fans wanted with the next game because people were just all over the place with "suggestions"

The only consistency was "new" and "different"

Nah, it's not the same, since she's an asari, and asari are females.
