1) ME is a character driven story and Bioware messes up default male human squaddies. Kaidan and Jacob had the combined personalities of a box while Miranda and Ashley packed all the attitude.
An obligatory character is another sloppy job. People invest 110% when they do what they want to do instead of working to fill some silly quota.
2) People are emotional when they see how Mass Effect is humancentric. ME is a character driven story. Keeping only one human squaddie gives your beloved aliens extra screentime.
3) Squad size rumored to be 7. Andromeda is an opportunity to refresh the series with newness. Since ME is character driven why not have 2 new alien race members as squaddies.
People are attached to bringing every Milky Way race. 2 new alien race members in the squad is the perfect. It frees up squad space for all the major Milky Way races: Krogan, Asari, Turian, and Salarian.
4) Playing as a male will be unique and special if you're the only on on the team.
5) We eliminate sjw and gamegate kids by putting in a human female and no male. As of now female Cora is our default human sidekick.
