for what i gather from the interview, the new armor work on a layer system.

So yeah it look like the Light armor on ME 1 but you can add layers to it to modifies it.

I always liked the look of that armor too bad it was a weak armor even in the early game.  Interesting how the default look of Ryder's armor contrasts with Shepard's default look.  At the end of the day Shepard was a soldier through and through it seems like Rider is an explorer first while only fighting if they have to.  I am sure we will see just as much fighting as we did with Shepard but the mindset of Ryder will be different than Shepard.  I think their default looks reflect that.

It makes kind of sense that it is the same.

If you are starting in the same time that ME1 and ME2 happened. I'm sure you can use Remnant upgrades to make one like the armor in the concept arts later.

Devlon Industries. Good gear for hazardous environments.

They may not be exactly the same but I think it was over all white and blue look the OP was referring to.

It's not very exciting though, is it? I don't mean "exciting" in that way. I'm just "meh" about it so far.

I am not sure I am crazy about having layered system.  I will have to see it in action.  I liked the modular system in ME2/3.

Good call. It's definitely reminiscent of the Explorer getup.

I really like the new armor, as we see it in the combat scenes. It looks clean, like something a professional military or space organization would actually use. I believe I like it more than the N7 armor, already. (Not that I won't be happy to earn some N7 armor, given the chance.) I look forward to seeing it in action, learning about the organization behind it, and seeing what type of customization features this game includes.

Same with the new guns. That "evolved Lancer/Avenger" assault rifle looks good. I like the new design. I hope gear remains useful throughout the game, and doesn't become obsolete as we find strictly better stuff.

That had to be more devastating to Wrex than the genophage ever was.

Well the cons of having an aesthetic build around simple curve or straight line and bicromatic color is that sooner or later all you armor will look the same.

Ahh, the Phoenix Armor. I half expected all of the Cerberus personnel in ME2 to be sporting this stuff when Shep awoke.
