She looks like a young adult and not like a teenager.  She could easily be in her early to mid twenties.  Those are adults and not teenagers.  She is green but still competent.  Besides you can customize Ryder and you can probably give him or her a more mature look if you want.

They already said this new crew is going to be "greener" than the previous bunch.  I assume that means "younger" as well.

 

Additionally, this is supposed to be a story about "becoming a hero," not a "hero becoming a legend," so, again, I would assume they would go with "younger."

Honestly, just looking at Ryder, it's hard for me to tell if she is actually a teenager or not. It would not surprise me if Bioware is trying to appeal to younger players by taking inspiration from Hunger Games and Ender's Game.

I don't know what teenagers you've been hanging around lately, but she doesn't look the part to me either.

I very much doubt BW is going to ever-ever use a younger-than-18 character in any kind of erotic context. Or even non-sexual romantic context. So OP's worries are nonsense.

I don't know about you but I tend to have younger characters in mind anyways when I design my role playing head canons and think about what kind of players I want to play in any given age.  With the exception of whenever BioWare specifically mentions characters.  To not go on about it too much depth I have many reasons for doing so.  The only character I have specifically aged out?  Kara Trevelyan 26 at the start of Dragon Age.  With her brother, Benjamin, probably being the oldest character I have created at his early thirties.  The rest?  Early to mid twenties probably at the time of the events taking place.  

 

So no...this will not be a problem at all.

Uh Dragon Age Origins had young cast. Surely you could make your Warden look older, but most of them had family members that indicated that they weren't that old. Alistair was 20, Morrigan barely older than that. But they were all still adults, no-teenagers around. Surely characters that are in their early twenties can feel young to some older players, but that doesn't mean that they are teenagers. I very much doubt Bioware is making game with high schoolers, it's likely that were are simply less seasoned and experienced than Shepard was without being even much younger than s/he.

Hell the Asari is till likely to be in the triple digits...if I understand how Asari life spans work...
