 I wrote about Liara, mate.

I know for which one you wrote, but I never said "Hihihi Liara looks as kid and acts as one",so wanted to correct you about which one gets award of looking and acting as child in here.

Well, academically, I'm barely more than a child, AND I CAN LEGALLY OWN A FIREARM, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

That's not the point, she said that her opinion is held in low regard, because she is *considered* barely more than a child, not about her actual age.

(and that is probably in the context of Asari Matriarchs in the field)

They already said this new crew is going to be "greener" than the previous bunch. I assume that means "younger" as well.

Additionally, this is supposed to be a story about "becoming a hero," not a "hero becoming a legend," so, again, I would assume they would go with "younger."

At this point, I'm just pleased with the fact the protagonist revealed appears to be female and non-white, and, so far, there have been no anti-SJW tantrums.

See the problem with social justice warriors is that they assume that I, as a white male, can't comprehend that somebody might just want to write a story with a female lead.
I can tell that maybe bioware just wanted the default to be a female.
SJW's assume either that bioware is feeding them-in. Which case WAKE UP because maybe you're the ones holding people back
Or they assume that I assume that, in which case-stop making assumptions and forcing me into some mold, hypocrites.

Sorry, I'm not too great at this. Are you appeased though? ;)

And I'm saying that's exactly the same with me, yet I'm clearly of age, and have been for a couple years now.

Oh btw, I came here thinking this was a discussion about being able to romance your sibling. BSN I am disappoint!

The salt's still good though, I mean complaining about the appearance of the character when they can be made to look however you want then to be? That probably deserves a medal in itself!

This thread title is bizarre, which is par for the course, around here.

The Shepard romances were gross. He or she could make sexy time with "Birdman spacebro with predator mandibles" and "glowing-eyed masked alien with chicken legs". How in the world could the protagonist we saw be considered gross in comparison to that?

When they retired the original BSN a few years ago, they should've named this place the BDN- BioWare Deviant Network.

The whole disappointment from that "younger cast" thread made me ponder if I would even like to play the story.

Do you seriously consider not playing a game based on that combination of words?

Shepard was 29 in ME. "Younger cast" probably means younger than that, and far less seasoned. That's about it.

I think there are some people here with some serious issues with aging. LOL

There are going to be games where the protagonist is older or younger than the player. I don't expect the company to cater to me every time. It was nice that Shepard wasn't a young adult but an established adult with a lot of experience. It's what the story called for. This is a new story is supposed to be about someone who hasn't had the experience that someone like Shepard had; they have training but little else (from what we have gathered from the available information). Therefore, I expect them to be a bit younger--but legal age obviously due to the romantic content Bioware puts in their games.  And besides, Bioware hasn't put any young character in a Mass Effect game in an uncomfortable "intimate" situation like the OP is afraid of.

My advice: It's a role playing game. Just relax, and if you have age issues you can't get past, then don't do the romances or... I don't know... make your character look older???? and pretend they are.  And btw, the female looks like a young, early 20-something adult.

Maybe one of the romances this time around will be a Salacious B. Crumb type of creature.

It doesn't matter what age the protagonist or the cast are because in Hollywood (and now games) the leading men and women are all mentally around 27-32. There is this sort of golden balance of maturity and youthfulness that every character we are supposed to care about possesses. They're young and fun-loving (but not silly, bratty or obnoxious) but still mature, thoughtful and wise (without being tired, jaded and cranky). Look at the Grey's Anatomy cast. How old are any of those characters? You can't tell because they are all playing the same "perfect" undefined age.

An older example is Dawson's Creek where if we didn't know they were high school students, they could all easily pass for 27. Then you have the Good Wife which is ostensibly about a woman in her mid-forties returning to the work force but Alicia acts likes someone half her age most of the time. There isn't much difference between Nurse Hathaway and Alicia Florrick except the 20 year gap between the two shows airing. They have slightly different priorities and problems and but the personalities of the characters are very similar.

What this means is that in fiction, age really is just a number and personalities of the main characters will reflect the most appealing age range to the audience no matter what it says on their driving licenses.

Are you sure that isn't just a reflection of people IRL acting that way? I'm older than Alicia, but no more "mature." Neither is anyone else I know,

Shin.Megami.Tensei%3A.PERSONA.4.full.332

God forbid the OP ever come across a Persona game.

Is it like a thing in Japan for all the characters appearing that way on the panel?

It looks exactly like Type Moon characters slide

I think we can all agree that the decision to raise the age of consent to 36 in the new Andromedan Community was a bad move.

What is it with this new trend of hating on young characters out of principle before even knowing them personally (or even knowing if they will be young at all, since nothing is confirmed yet). Seriously get a grip BSN. This nonsense is getting out of hand.

Well yeah. There comes a point when you stop "growing up" mentally and you only change your behaviour because of what is expected of you. These days people just do whatever the hell they want though.

On the one hand we have people who think that anything short of being a foetus is too old, and on the other we have people who think anything short of being old and in a wheelchair is too Adolescent. Ha! People are weird when it comes to age.
