Or in other words, a cheaper 2D ME spinoff?

I'm just wondering what people think of the idea of having like an ME entry that is small scale, like playable on phone or other device, or PC, whatever, but that is condensed and isn't this super huge AAA bazillion dollar thing.

I can tell you I have no attachment to AAA one way or the other, it's fine if it's big and fancy pants and costs a million dollars and has flashy graphics, it's also fine if it's not.

However, because the games have gotten so expensive and the process so convoluted I was wondering what do other people think about bite sized chunks of the ME universe with something less comprehensive than the fully fledged 3D game thing.

Already you have DLC which are smaller but why not a whole new game concept that is super smaller.

I think the game itself felt slightly under stuffed, but if they went all out on a concept like that I think it would be pretty interesting.

it's an easier way to get out stories and characters and stuff without having it all bogged down in one process, as well as for newer ideas and things as well.

I never got to play Galaxy. :( I know it got ordinary reviews but still...

There is a guy who has been working on a game called Mass Effect Chronicles using RPG Maker on and off for about 5 years now. It's still slow going but you can keep up to date with his progress here:

I think you can currently download an in-dev version of the game if you want to try it out. Haven't done it yet myself.
