Double the dialogue, animation, etc for every scene the sibling is in I'm guessing.
Ah, got it, even though Fem/Manryders could voice each other, animation would be a pain indeed.

Yes, that.Double the dialogue, animation, etc for every scene the sibling is in I'm guessing.
I'd prefer that they let us choose the gender of our siblings instead of having to choose either male or female. Some people might want a brother for Dude Ryder and a sister for Lady Ryder. The only strike against this is that Bioware might want to use the same voice actors for either sibling, so Ryder and their sibling would need two voice actors each, instead of just sharing a set, which would be more expensive :I
It doesn't matter what other people would want. You don't choose your family members. You have to stick with who you have. No matter what Bioware decides to do, they have every right to determine what family members you have. If they decide that male/female PС are a pair of siblings then cool. Why is this a problem? When ME1 came out, I don't remember people whining about that their Spacer Shepard got mommy instead of daddy. This is probably the first instance where I'm against of giving the player more choice.

Yeah, I get what you're saying about a preset family, and Bioware does have every right to go with what they think tells a better story.
I'm not really saying it's a problem, just that that would be my preference, especially given that they might have a bigger impact on ME:A's story. And I'm always for giving people more choice I guess, and some people might prefer a story of two sisters or two brothers, when given a sibling at least.
For all we know the gender of our sibling/relative is fixed as well, and it won't even change based on ours.
It's stil possible that they'll give that character different VA from the PC and give us the choice of his/her gender though. I'm not sure they'd go through the Fallout 4 route and use the PC's alternate appearance and VA for the sibling/relative. The cost between the two options will be the same, I think. Bioware, as far as I know, pays the VA for the number of dialogues they do, not on a fixed salary so the two PC VA still have to work on the second character's dialogues.
Plus, in F4 the alternate PC
Well, I had this thought;
You know, I think a neat thing to do would be to allow the player to customize the sibling character's appearance in the character creator. I think it may be an easier way to have the sibling character look like the player character or how the player would want them to look.
Basically like how Fallout 4 allowed the player to customize the spouse character. Let's just hope the sibling character gets to live a bit longer.
If we have a twin or a sibling that become our main antagonist I absolutely want to customize him/her. There's no way the antagonist of my MEA will look like an insignificant character or lack of charisma XD
For the rest of the familly (like parents), auto custom is fine (but for those who have the patience, the option to modify them can be nice)
They did with Hawke as well. I think it might be a good idea to make the two characters look related, without the problems of DA2's family members.Well, I had this thought;

I had the same thought;
I'm sorry, I don't think I was specific enough; when I said physical similaries, I meant facial similarities like noses and such. The preset family tend to have similar facial features from what I can recall and so I think Hawke ran the risk of not looking like their family beyond sharing the same color skin, hair and eyes.
I think it was a great idea and I'm glad they used that idea in Dragon Age II but I like the idea of personally deciding the looks of the sibling or family myself in Andromeda. Although if it would not be too much work, perhaps they could keep a sort of feature that uses the preset family idea for those that do not want to spend so much time customizing them.
Nope. He didn't say that, unless he's been doing additional, in-depth interviews of which I'm not aware. (Always possible.) He never even explicitly said that our family member(s) would be in the game, though it seemed implied.
It is a logical supposition that any family members, if they are part of the game, will adapt with any changes we make in the Character Creator.
Mac Walters: 'There is more than one Ryder. There is a Ryder family, we're going to tie that in to the story. We're going to approach the way you choose your character a bit differently.'
Aaryn Flynn answered the question 'So moving on, so the Pathfinder character that was revealed at the end of the trailer appears to be a female by default this time?' with 'Well there's a trick there, I can't get into it, but yes, that's your female protagonist.'
If only we could choose how our siblings look like in real life...

I wouldn't mind a fixed family. I just hope we don't forced into an automatic choice for choosing a gender/ Class. I am ok with being forced to save/kill one the but just don't punish me for playing the way I want.
Might be nice to have Elder Sibling Rhyder be the protag, and twins (one male, one female) be the younger npc siblings.
This gonna produce a ton of unintentionally ugly family members lol
I hope Bioware allows us to customize the Ryder family. Diversity is always a good thing.
That'll take me days!!!!! Days!!!!!! One mistake and it's all back to the drawing board.I hope Bioware allows us to customize the Ryder family. Diversity is always a good thing.

That's why its easier and better in the long run, to just love your family regardless of how they look ![]()

Diversity of what, I must ask. I'm really confused.

Allow us to make Ryder families of various ethnicities.
true. I make an asian or Hispanic Ryder and both my parents and my siblings are white. Maybe I'm fully Hispanic. I'm not but that's the idea.Allow us to make Ryder families of various ethnicities.

You mean filling in facing like MS Paint?
Hopefully we can choose their species too, 'cause I want my Ryder to be adopted by Krogan.
