Doesn't matter in Japan, in fact, many of Fire Emblem games have first cousin relationship as canon like Lucina and Owain.
It's not exactly common, but it's not illegal either other than in few countries.

They should've made the antagonist (assuming this is the path they're taking) your mother instead of your sibling. And your mother should have been voiced by Bedelia Du Mau Gillian Anderson.
