Interesting enough I have been reading a few old articles about fan outrage recently and a lot of it deals with Mass Effect 3 so it is fairly old information, but someone was talking to a lawyer about things people were claiming about Mass Effect 3 and its endings such as the BBB blog response, the FTC complaint, and the possibility of a class action lawsuit. Now one of the things that was mentioned is the age of a person playing a game is now much older then in the past so they are more aware of the rights they have. So one of the biggest things mentioned is that developers have to be really careful in what they say to prevent people from taking things the wrong way and that is the direction BioWare has gone. The BSN slowed down from official posts, but I also don't see nearly as much in other social media about the game itself it is now generally seems to be "inside baseball comments" that people look to find meaning to with very little to do with game content itself.
So with that being said I think it has less to do with the BSN and how the comments are here, but the risk of being sued because what a developer said was taken in the wrong context and they are left open for a lawsuit and since people attempted to go down that route with Mass Effect 3 I just don't see why they would want to have that happen again.
