Interesting enough I have been reading a few old articles about fan outrage recently and a lot of it deals with Mass Effect 3 so it is fairly old information, but someone was talking to a lawyer about things people were claiming about Mass Effect 3 and its endings such as the BBB blog response, the FTC complaint, and the possibility of a class action lawsuit.  Now one of the things that was mentioned is the age of a person playing a game is now much older then in the past so they are more aware of the rights they have.  So one of the biggest things mentioned is that developers have to be really careful in what they say to prevent people from taking things the wrong way and that is the direction BioWare has gone. The BSN slowed down from official posts, but I also don't see nearly as much in other social media about the game itself it is now generally seems to be "inside baseball comments" that people look to find meaning to with very little to do with game content itself.

So with that being said I think it has less to do with the BSN and how the comments are here, but the risk of being sued because what a developer said was taken in the wrong context and they are left open for a lawsuit and since people attempted to go down that route with Mass Effect 3 I just don't see why they would want to have that happen again.

BioWare shoots itself in the foot by taking a "hands off" approach when it comes to regulating this forum. If I were in charge I honestly would close the BSN, but then I suppose all the hate would spill elsewhere. This forum could certainly use much tighter modding; there are multiple members that are repeat offenders who should've been permanently banned long ago. Unfortunately, the actual developers have no control over the forums (it's, I suppose, whoever's in charge of marketing), and it's very telling that the developers themselves have had to abandon the forums while the trolls run rampant without repercussions.

I think they are hands on as much as they can be for this thread has had posts deleted while I was typing a response and several threads have vanished since E3 (one of them even disappeared when I was typing a response).  The problem is keeping up with what is being posted on a hourly basis especially after a major released for after Dragon Age: Inquisition posts would only be on the first page for a couple of minutes before being bumped off.

Some people shurely like to aggrandize themselves at the expence of others and this video is nothing but that.  Appalling really.
