Shepard was kind of a Mary Sue/Gary Stu. Good looking, very powerful, charming/intimidating and succeeded in almost anything with very little flaws. Of course that depended how you played her.
Humanity itself is a Mary Sue in this universe.

Because pissing in a vase on a stake out is actually sensible.
The cereal was just bizaar.
I don't really understand why. Is there a danger in using the toilet that wouldn't also be a factor when using a vase?
