Would people be so excited about this game launch if...... We were not this gen, where game launches are so few compared to when the PS3 and Xbox 360 were at their height. I honestly find that there are so few decent games out this generation, that I often buy games that a few years ago I would not have touched simply because the games market is so empty.  I honestly would not even consider buying MEA if not for the fact there is so little for me to throw my money at.

To be honest in the last 2 years I have been through over 200 books simply because I need to kill time, I used to spend gaming ( I get through a book in a day or two, being a fast reader.) My kindle gets more use than my console.

Mass Effect was hugely popular, even with the ending controversy. People were going to be excited about this game being in development no matter how many good games were released for the XBone or PS4.

I can usually find a couple of games a year I really like and I play those to death.

The rest of the time, forums are almost as amusing...

I still don't have any fond feelings towards the ending but I still want to play the next game because I love the universe and just because the prior game had an ending I didn't like does not mean the next one will.

I'm going to say yes, because yes. Mass Effect was so unique in it's choice based gaming, that people kept going back to it.

Now, lots of games have adapted "choice based" as best they can, because they know Mass Effect was extremely popular for it.

2013-2015 was a gaming famine for sure. All game companies were developing games for this gen, and we're finally seeing the fruits of their labors. So many good games to play now! I'm booked solid for the next 9 months at least, and I've played 9 games through and through this year so far, as well as platinumed 2 old ones. I don't feel starved anymore.

Of course I will be excited. I buy a game because I want to play it, I don't care how the market look like.

And with all the games that will be released at the end of 2016 and during 2017, I'm sorry but I disagree with you, I will have so many games to play that I don't know where to start ! Well, for sure, when MEA will be out, I will give it my top priority and all the other games will have to wait for a very long time !

I expect to be playing this all through 2017 and beyond.

As it is now, I have an itch to replay the trilogy, despite having stacks of games I've yet to get to.

There's something about this universe that makes me prefer it  to everything else.

While there is a surprising amount of games lying on the horizon that I am interested in, I have as much interest in Mass Effect: Andromeda as I had before so yes, I'd still would be and I still am excited about the game.
