Bioware, please don't let The Witcher 3 influence Mass Effect Andromeda.

I'd rather go back to talking about fantastic things from TW3 that Bioware could/should take on for later projects.

I'd like to talk about The Witcher 3's similarities to Super Mario Bros. and its inferiority to Witcher 2.

But that's probably not a good idea.

Go back? Wrong thread friend.

This thread is where I've posted the most in the last half year+. If I don't try to be productive here I'm likely to be going back to being disappointed in Bioware's treatment of the forums and ignoring things.

Just another example of TW3's sexism. The fact that it has a damsel in distress that has to be saved by some macho douche.

It's not though lol... look I already said TW3 isn't my favorite game but if you have problems with it like it's literally stalking you in the night, then that's just weird.

So its misogyny.

Misogyny: dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women.

How was Geralt misogynistic about Ciri? He felt none of these negative things towards her.

And how is saving a woman misogynistic? Does it go the other way too, where saving a man is misandristic?

Best not to argue. There will be a diatribe on how it's impossible for females to be bigoted because of class oppression or what have you. Remember, it's SJW, it's completely divorced from reality.

In fact I'm going to parllell Natashina's point.. how many people (And/or LGBT) have met an actual member of the Patriarchy? Not seen one on TV or otherwise... or media like in person?

They believe it's true of all men. Remember, for these folks, generalizations are only bad if they negatively impact the favored group. If it negatively impacts the group they don't like, they're okay with that.

The creator of the topic is against sexism, but he/she is sexist.

Well, well, just the sexism of the others is forbidden.

You are so good.

Well sometimes you have to accept that not everyone is going to understand anything and everything about everyone, and sometimes resort to generalizations and attacks.

As stated in that nuked thread

"I see feminist as quintessentially idealistic but sometimes fragile and weak in constitution

I see patriarchy as strong but sometimes immoral and ignorant of ideals.

What’s needed is something that is the best of both worlds.

As well as mutual respect and understanding by both sides for strengths and weaknesses."

Anyway with all respect to Anita Sarkeesian I think the Damsel thing has been pretty severely misinterpreted, just because a female isn't first and foremost doesn't mean it's "misogynistic" or whatever, just like if the female is it doesn't automatically mean they are not.

They haven't really hidden it very well, though. The formula is plain as day, and relies entirely on Geralt's relatively blue-collar job.

The writing's decent and personal with each one, but lumping too much praise on CDPR for their "game design" isn't right.

But it is hidden well - because most people don't see it. This is about the majority - do people figure out the content or not? Think of DAI and DAO. Many people say DAO had better quests - but that's not exactly right. DAI and DAO share the same **** quest dedign - basic fetch and kill quests. But DAO hid it with dialogue interludes. So did DA2. People complained about the mobs, but not the ass quest design that's been an issue since BG2.

With TW3 for whatever reason people don't get caught up in the same-y mechanics.

I prefer the simpler approach "Anyone has the potential to be a saint or a dickbag."

No please Andromeda don't learn from TW3.

Learn from TW2.
