Bioware, please don't let The Witcher 3 influence Mass Effect Andromeda.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Witcher 3. My sister and friends can't stop praising it. I might have to try it out sometime.

They have plenty of active moderators there probably your thread would have been perceived as troll thread and consequently after the inevitable flamewar, shut down resulting in a warning point to you and PM to avoid doing something like that in the future.

Besides why you want to be a troll? What benefits give to you being one?

No worries. I was poking fun at the creation of this thread.

It's good, worth giving a shot. The main obstacle for an average BW gamer is relating with Geralt as the sole possible protagonist that has his own predefined background and preferences. If you can do that, you're up for a great experience. The expansions are also damn good. It's definitively worth investing money on it considering it's not expensive at all.

whyyyyyy this post still going???????

Because this forum is surprisingly easy to troll.

Anyone who's actually played the game would easily spot what OP is playing at given this is BSN.

Ever since he made that sex thread I've been surprised at how few people seem to notice he's trolling, specially given how happy this forum is to call people trolls.

Oh man, do it. I just got into the witcher about four weeks ago. I thought I wouldn't like Geralt because all everyone talk about, is him screwing women. But it's far from the truth. The story is so deep and each and every side mission I've played so far is as good as the main stuff. I can't wait to dive into all the DLC this game has to offer.

The thing is it can't help being influenced by W3 same as all the RPG's and third person action games that came out while it was in active development of the game and probably up to the moment when they say "that's it this is release version."

While TW3's story and characters are indeed well written, I found the gameplay to be somewhat of a let-down. It's not that it's bad or glitchy, but I find it rather repetitive and little engaging, and even for the completionist that I am, diving for the humpfdreth of time in the Skellige sea to loot chests and wipe interrogation marks off of the map gets pretty annoying. I know I won't play it a second time.

I'd recommend you try it at your sister's first,to see if it's your thing.

Well damn, does this mean we won't be able to hack our enemies apart with a sword in Andromeda... that sucks... Guns are so OP and OD even!

Why can't more people here (on BSN in general - not thread) be like you and just give the game a chance?

Because many here have drunk the PC cool-aid, and think everything is racist, everything is sexist, everything is homophobic and they have to point it all out.

The devs have definitely played TW3 so they will be influenced by it. But judging from the devs twitch streams (among other sources) they try out a wide diversity of games. So it won't merely be rpgs they get their influence from.

People need to stop doing that! :P  In The witcher in DAI in every game! ;) Granted in a game like TES there is a lot of really cool things to find of the beaten path by exploring but going everywhere with the same character can wear you down. Chasing every ? mark on the map...

That's the big problem you got with that game? Sounds like a wonderful game if the biggest problem is it allows too much player choice. I havn't played it due to the bug in TW2 that didn't allow me to exit the arena but instead got me stuck forever and made me get feed up with the series.

When you get locked up in a bugged Tutorial it kind of annoys you.

On another note, how are you guys doing on the leaderboard for GOGs vacation quest? I am placed on 5769 - like a bowz.

I know it's madness, but I couldn't stop myself from doing so, either in TW3 or DAI. It's like an itch you can't refrain from scratching even though you know you shouldn't...

I enjoyed TW2 more than TW3, to be honest, where narration wasn't polluted by useless fetch-quests and where fights were more punishing (those darn rogue dwarves in small, enclosed rooms...)

I haven't finished any Witcher game yet. I have started over from the beginning but something broke my Witcher copy last night and now I'm reinstalling. :( I really want to get into Geralts skin so I don't lose interest in him like I did the first time.

But I saw fairly early where it was heading (with the ? marks) as soon as I hit Velen the first time. Same in DAI...even if I one almost complete PT there. So I skipped a lot of stuff for later play-throughs.

For srs. Played the first one, wasn't particular impressed. The second one came out and I was kinda meh cuz of my experience with the first one but the praise for it was relentless so I tried it again, made it all the way to a bit after the eye-popping scene before I realized I did not give a single flying **** about where the story was going so I quit and haven't looked back since.

The only bits I recall about the games now is a ghost in a corn field, kicking people off a wall and a riddle golem. Those were all good though.

Oh, and a spanking scene.

Even repairing didn't work? Ouch! I had a similar problem with TW1, and it annoyed me so much I uninstalled it and never touched it again. Still, if you're able to stick to the main story, unlike me, I'm pretty sure you won't have trouble re-aquainting yourself with the grumpy fart.

As I said before, the story and main characters are great and easily incentive enough to play the game at least once. I haven't bought Blood and Wine yet, but it seems it will be a very good dlc too. Overall I do think it's a good game, it just hasn't turned me into a rabid fangirl, and I find fights in general to be repetitive. To be fair, I'll admit I prefer shooting to hacking, so that might be a reason too for me not being as enthusiast about TW3 as many people who've played it seem to be.

Correct, (if you're on PC,) one of the things you can do is remove all of your TW1 folders. When you uninstall the game, it leaves a few folders behind. I ran into a similar problem with DA:O Ultimate Edition and that was only way to fix it. So if this reinstall doesn't work, try that and then reinstall. Good luck. :)

It happened to me too at first. I uninstalled and re-installed the game, then rebooted my comp before trying to play it, and it worked.

I wonder if OP knew people will eventually start fighting each other over stupid crap like it happens in 90% of the threads around here. I'm sure he did. Anyways, let's continue, shall we?

I did love how they did the open world in Witcher 3, so Bioware should draw from that.

I find myself amazed by the GTAV open world. It just doesn't get old! It's always full of people who pull off brilliantly the illusion of life, the city feels alive. Man that game is a big step up from everything I've played before in terms of the world.

Why would mass effect need influence from any game? Unlike the Witcher series ME is perfection of its own genre.

I think most would disagree, on and off the forum.
