Waaaaaay-t. First you want casual encounters when not romancing, now you don't want the casual encounter RPG of all time to influence MEA? Make up your mind, son- person!

I think most would disagree, on and off the forum.

Name one game better than ME in the genre.

inb4 fallout.

Hell, Mass Effect deals with notable imperfections before it even leaves Eden Prime in the first mission.

My post was purely comparison, ME has its flaws and imperfections. "Perfection of the genre" means no one else did it better than Bioware in this particular genre.

So then tell me how TW3 has a lack of respect for women like Anna Henrietta who is duchess, Ciri who can be considered the most powerful person in the world, Cerys who can become queen of Skellige(better ruler than her own brother), Tamara the witch hunter standing up to her drunken father, or Yoana who is the best armorer in Novigrad.
And guess what... none of them want to 'get fucked' by Geralt.

Lol, funny how echoness has yet to respond after you and a few others responded to her.

Yeah, the "lack of respect for women" comment about Wild Hunt holds no water.

I have to say, this thread only increased my interest in the game. I might even try it in the future.

Truth for TW3 lack respect for women.

You must've missed that part where TW3 was set in the 1200's. Or maybe you don't know your history very well. Women were subjected to much and discriminated against and were just overall second class citizens back in those days. TW3 simply reflects that reality. It reflects the ugly nature of human beings.

It also seems you either didn't play the game OR you didn't truly pay attention if you did, considering CDPR levelled the playing field by making some of the most prominent characters extremely bad ass, confident women. Geralt would've been screwed if he didn't have the lodge of sorceress' at his side. The universe would be screwed had it not been for a woman.

A thing that turns me off TW is the bro jokes.

During the intro to TW3, you and your girlfriend are talking and she's upset (sorry can't remember why). Then Geralt moves away and autodialogues: "seems she's not in the mood".

You can't expect me to get invested in what is being sold as a complex mature relationship and then have Geralt react to Triss concerns like that. It feels like a nudge for the bros, meant to build complicity with bro players. "Women, amirite bros?"

I would be glad if ME didn't copy the bro code from TW (or at least leave it for the douche dialogue option instead of making it automatic). But I'm sure they can copy other things.

Ahh, so everyone must follow the cult lest they be shamed. You know, you speak of physical diversity but you can't seem to tolerate intellectual diversity.

I'm so glad the Witcher is as successful as it is now.

So you consider the Witcher 3 to be "intellectual"? Hahaha. You know that you're opinion doesn't have to sound like a subsidiary of the witcher marketing departments' right?

Nothing to spoil for me. I completed it twice last summer. Currently on my third since Blood and Wine expansion came out.

But yeah, that proves the point quite well. It's almost like Mad Max. Max is always getting caught up in other people's stories. That's Geralt.

I'm trying to remember that scene. My general recollection was that there was a lot of playful banter and the whole scene was pitched more along the lines of Yennifer basically controlling Geralt. Not that this isn't also a bit of an issue with portrayals of powerful women - but my whole take away wasn't Geralt so much complaining about women as much as it was Yennifer wrapping him around her finger. Which mind you has its own issues, as I say, but I'm not sure it's a "bro" thing, because Geralt is very much the person at the bottom end of that power dynamic.

Bioware mods are keeping this topic opened because someone is against The Witcher and male characters?

So if we create more topics like this, no problem?

I didn't get any sort of "bro" vibe from TW3 outside of when Geralt, Lambert, and Eskel are hanging out in Kaer Morhen. But that makes sense for them there. Otherwise, I didn't get that vibe at all.

Just going to edit that one. I don't fancy another 2 week ban right after coming off of one.

Remember the truth that people like the OP won't admit: They're angry that a white dude is a good guy in the first place. Or at least, not submissive and ashamed of his male parts.

We've heard so much about TW3 in these forums. About how great and wonderful it is. And that really scares me. Especially considering how problematic the game is. Its lack of respect for women, homosexuals and minorities being the major ones. In the entire game, you play as some old, boring, white dude who can go around sleeping with young women, who are often prostitutes and are forced to sell themselves. The fact that the developers thought it would be a good idea to allow players to take advantage of disadvantaged women is disgusting. There is so much misogyny in the game. Women are treated like crap everywhere. Then there's the lack of racial diversity and lack of representation for the LGBT community as well.

Bioware, please don't let this disgusting dudebro simulator influence you. The game is stupid and has a really despicable protagonist. Please don't ruin Mass Effect by imitating CD Project Red. You're better than this.

1. You didn't play the game

2. Stop watching Anita Sarkeesian videos

Intellectual in that post refers to diversity of ideas, OP implied that games that doesn't follow his ideas of progressivism shouldn't be tolerated. Such a cult-like mentality.

Also yes I consider Witcher 3 to have far more intellectual substance than recent BioWare games, if my opinion sounds like a "subsidiary of the witcher marketing departments" then so be it.

Given that the game is practically finished and in polishing mode, it's a bit late to worry about potential influences.
