We've heard so much about TW3 in these forums. About how great and wonderful it is. And that really scares me. Especially considering how problematic the game is. Its lack of respect for women, homosexuals and minorities being the major ones. In the entire game, you play as some old, boring, white dude who can go around sleeping with young women, who are often prostitutes and are forced to sell themselves. The fact that the developers thought it would be a good idea to allow players to take advantage of disadvantaged women is disgusting. There is so much misogyny in the game. Women are treated like crap everywhere. Then there's the lack of racial diversity and lack of representation for the LGBT community as well. 

 

Bioware, please don't let this disgusting dudebro simulator influence you. The game is stupid and has a really despicable protagonist. Please don't ruin Mass Effect by imitating CD Project Red. You're better than this.

And I agree. but for me, that is more because they spent more than half of that teaser to show me old film of space ships getting launched. (Really, I have internet, if I want to look at old things I can search for it  )

Considering the President of the United States has a copy of TW2 in the White House, presented and given to him by Poland's Prime Minister, I imagine Bioware would do well to take what they can from TW3 and implement it positively and successfully themselves. Games don't usually get that level of positive press/attention.

Obama only accepted that game out of courtesy. I'm sure he wouldn't lower himself by actually playing that garbage. It would be better if he just threw that copy in the middle of a desert and ordered a drone strike on it.

A lot of company jumped on that bandwagon. CDPR included, since they made the third Witcher game an open world. Let's not pretend Bioware were the only one who wanted to capture at least part of Skyrim's success.

I thin CDPR made a better job in combining the open world system with the story content compared to Bioware, but that's another topic. Both companies went open world to emulate Skyrim's success.

 

I never played TW3. I wasn't suggesting ONLY Bioware did this, Bioware games just happen to be on topic here

I'm going to say the same thing I always say to remarks like that. Yeah I know that this is a bait thread, but I've seen this said in 100% seriousness before.

Don't play the game and ignore it if it bothers you. BioWare is going to do what they wish. They've never been sexist at all, and I don't think they'd start now. I don't think CDPR is sexist either, nor the writer. Especially due to prostitutes. I mean, really? C'mon. If you want to fly the equality flag, start by being accepting that some media is going to be offensive to some and not for everyone. TW is one of those cases. I don't begrudge their success either.

Also, don't make threads just to bait fans of TW. I'm not a TW fan. I have no interest in the games due to some minor issues with the lore. I'm not bringing them up here because it's not worth the debate. However, I don't sit on the BSN and complain about those issues. If I felt strongly enough about it, I'd take it up with CDPR. It doesn't phase me, because despite the talk on the BSN I find the game series incredibly easy to ignore. I think I'm just burned out and passed the point of giving a flying pyjak about the whole debate.

Besides, there is a lot of reasonable fans of TW3 that are far more interested in how the game handled the sidequests. I pay attention to them, despite some of my issues in the story and lore for the TW series.
