We need merchants/commerce in Andromeda, so why not :)

Yes plz. "Joke races" work for 2-3 games/movies max. If they just repeat the same old tired volus memes in Andromeda it will feel so pointless. Explore Volus as a race and as individuals, they have great potential just as Hanar and Elcor

Plus, Volus multiplayer is a lifestyle

I'd love an Elcor. Just gimme one and I'll mount a propulsion gun on him and strap a pair of gauss rifles to his shoulders.

I'm actually disappointed the main character can't be a volus.

If there's no squaddie i'll be times two unhappy, as i'd prefer a volus to Turians, Salarians, Geth, Quarians and Drell (Krogans and Asari are cool, and already semi-confirmed).  Vorcha would be another squaddie i'd like.

My ideal volus squad-mate would be a vanguard with a batglove; so many good times...

Considering we don't know what we will find out there, I don't see the problem. They may be more suited than us to many environments... which makes them mandatory to bring along!  :P

Which is a good point.  As an exploration mission, you surely want to have diverse capabilities in your crew.  If there's a high G world, or ammonia-based, then a volus would be far more useful than another squishy human.

Ditto vorcha, who's very genes are based on fast adaptability.

It wouldn't be logical for an ammonia based race to included on the "Ark". But I would love to see them.

@laudable11

We don't know, we might find a planet that's perfect for them but terrible for us, it could even endup being a planet with a lot of valuble resoruces that might be hard to recover without crews capable of working the environment without extreme protection and safeties. They are adapted to their own type of environment just as we are to ours.

I'd give him chance to prove himself, to become my squire, one vicious volus warrior.

I'd prefer a Leviathan companion instead.

Honestly I would not miss the Volus that much if they were not even in the game.  They are mainly used for jokey stuff that is mildly funny.  In the Milky Way they were important businessmen and merchants what good would they be in Andromeda?  I guess they could set up trade agreements with the natives.
