I don't need or want to see genitalia.

A) - Of course!
Otherwise, young people could associate those emerging, tingling feelings they don't understand with human nudity and exploring 'private' anatomy, instead of with ripping wings of flies, tearing legs of spiders, burning ants with magnifiers, using fish hooks on seagulls, spearing frogs and lizards with pointed sticks, strangling girls, stabbing boys, eating human flesh,..
In short, an American cultural tradition would go extinct: The sexually driven serial killer.
Can't have that. Must protect Family Values.

Look, we're dealing with a custom character here. The only way this would work is if they introduced genital and pubic hair sliders.
And as frelling amusing as that sounds, that ain't happening.
Not necessarily. In ME Shepard got shirtless and we didn't have body sliders. And in ME3 every human NPC had the same body (except Vega).

So, you think fans will be alright with BioWare railroading their PC with the same size junk and crotch-fro preferences?

As long as my male character has an Adonis belt and not a beer belly, I'll be as right as rain.

I don't. But i think Bioware wouldn't care about that and do "one size fits all" once again.

I find it amazing people will vehemently argue against it. XD

Hmm I think I see a consensus around like ME1 Liara and stuff, makes sense. Some people want DA:I which I sort of perceive as more fleshy. Rarely anyone wants P/V but some people wouldn't mind. Virtually no one wants to have clothes in the shower (which doesn't surprise me)
And no matter what, everyone agrees it should be tasteful and otherwise not for shock value.

Haha! That would be a whole different level, I can't say I would actually object though.
The one thing I noticed that struck me as somewhat "hardcore pornish" which was actually mentioned was the possibility of visible sexual intercourse. As cheesy as the current scenes are I think full blown sex would be pretty graphic.
I think one modest thing they can do is a better job with the male characters, I've noticed people tend to cite female character scenes as opposed to male ones and I'm sure female/gay* ME fans wouldn't mind a lazy lingering camera caressing a male PC or whatever....
Edit*: Well, straight female/gay,, er bi female/straight female/gay male? Haha I think that gets most people sorry if I missed you. =-)

I wouldn't mind it either. A straight man can appreciate male body as well. *AAABS*

I'd rather have no scenes like that, regardless of sex.

Well I kind of just mean they'd be willing to present it all without it kind of being a big deal. It wouldn't be for the sake of shock value or whatever although I imagine that might not change your position.
For me as I said in the OP a given instance of the naked body can be A) kind of shock value porn less appealing or B ) Kind of erotic art or just something sincere and interesting.
Although I guess you are saying whatever it is, it's not desired.

Do you have issues with romance scenes specifically or nudity in general? Would non-sexual nudity be an issue?

I read what you were talking about in that excerpt as scenes like where the camera hangs on Miranda's butt as you talk to her.

In general. Most likely, yes.

Well ok so no not "hyper-sexualized" or "gaze" but "sexual."
I actually can't stand the open-gape WOW BREASTS/BUTT sort of thing and then it's this awkward lingering, which is why I said "caressing" as in the natural desire and enjoyment of, like active, not passive.

Well, I guess you'll be disappointed by ME:A then because it's going to have nudity.

I'm not quite sure I get what you are saying. Can you give an example scenario please?

I know. Hopefully it will be avoidable. Even DAI had romances where sex scenes were either optional or not part of the romance. And I believe I recall other Bioware devs expressing a desire to have such things continue.

No, for quite a few romances you were given an ultimatum: have sex or the relationship ends.
For others there was an option to skip the sex scene but the game still expressed that the relationship involved sex.
So far there is only one romance where a sex scene or even mention of sex does not occur: Kelly Chambers. The writer wrote her romance with similar intentions as the writers of Josephine and Solas wrote theirs: leave it ambiguous so the player can determine the kind of relationship.

In ME2 it wasn't. You could refuse sex but it ended relationships as well. In ME1 it was optional and I don't know about ME3.

As far as I know, it was mandatory in Mass Effect 3 as well.
