They were better than ME2/3 though, whether they were better than ME1 is up in the air
Yeah you know to be honest ME2 and 3 were pretty drab, I don't remember any of them being memorable.

Agreement on BSN. Something is wrong. RUN!Hmm I think I see a consensus around like ME1 Liara and stuff, makes sense. Some people want DA:I which I sort of perceive as more fleshy. Rarely anyone wants P/V but some people wouldn't mind. Virtually no one wants to have clothes in the shower (which doesn't surprise me)
And no matter what, everyone agrees it should be tasteful and otherwise not for shock value.
Haha! That would be a whole different level, I can't say I would actually object though.
The one thing I noticed that struck me as somewhat "hardcore pornish" which was actually mentioned was the possibility of visible sexual intercourse. As cheesy as the current scenes are I think full blown sex would be pretty graphic.
I think one modest thing they can do is a better job with the male characters, I've noticed people tend to cite female character scenes as opposed to male ones and I'm sure female/gay* ME fans wouldn't mind a lazy lingering camera caressing a male PC or whatever....
Edit*: Well, straight female/gay,, er bi female/straight female/gay male? Haha I think that gets most people sorry if I missed you. =-)
A sexless romance in ME:A?
Only if achievement is titled Welcome To The FriendZone
Yeah, that scene seemed more like a finger to the eye from the producers rather than an attempt to balance out the nudity. I don't think any of the complainers asked for an upshot of a diseased penis. What's wrong with genitals if they're not up close and are not for a shock value (unike GoT did recently) and are displayed in a non-sexual way?

I agree that the ME team could do a better job with the male characters in romance scenes. I'm not talking about showing more chest and ass. In femShep and Kaidans's sex scene, the focus was on Shep's body which I found weird. The focus should have been on the romanced companion, not the players character, just like in the other sex scenes. It's like the devs didn't even realize they were inappropriately inserting the straight male gaze into that scene and focusing on the wrong character.
They were simply re-using the same scene for all romances. The scene of Femshep and Kaidan is the same one as Ashley and BroShep, just with different faces.

Just watched Ash and Shep's scene to verify this comment and the scenes are not simply reused. Ashley is very much the focus in those scenes, not Shep.

Swap Ash with FemShep and BroShep with Kaidan and you get the Kaidan romance scene.
To be clear, I'm discussing ME3 sex scenes. I just watched both and they don't just swap femShep/Ash and broShep/Kaidan. They also don't just swap faces for Ash and Kaidan. I'll try to explain what I'm talking about:
In femShep and Kaidan's sex scene, Kaidan picks Shep up and the focus is on Shep's backside. Then, Shep pushes Kaidan onto the bed. The camera briefly shows Kaidan on the bed and switches to looking at Shep standing over Kaidan in her underwear. Then, the camera switches again while Shep lowers down to Kaidan and focuses on her backside again.
In broShep and Ashley's sex scene, Shep and Ash kiss then the camera switches to a shot of Ashley laying on the bed in her underwear. The camera then briefly shows Shep standing over her before he lowers down and the camera focuses on them kissing.
The focus of these two scenes are very different.
I find Samantha Traynor bikini scene and all Miranda ass scenes so erotic and teasing...much more than nudity. Its not necessary to have nudity to be a very sexy and hot scene. Even the flirting with Kelly was so fun.
I prefer the insinuation to the revelation if you know what i mean.

Yeah pretty much this.

Well some of us readers just happen to like the Book or Revelation! ![]()
I always get friend-zoned in video games, so I don't care if there's nudity or not, I'll never get to see it.
I was watching the last GOT episode and the hound just pulls out his weenie. Like WTF? None of that. Naked bodies, no problem.
I think GoT is always pretty weird on this topic.
I think my standars for bad naked form are
1. Black and White, seriously.... is there something wrong with color? However this is not as problematic as....
2. The "slow" effect, suddenly everyone stops doing everything and lingers on the naked body, making it all super gazey. GoT does this all the time, even with regular garden variety breasts. Basically I'm telepathically hearing deep meaning, oh my god, so powerful, such power, I believe in kindness and good ... DA is unfortunately guilty of this.... in varying degrees.
3. The "fast" effect, reverse of the slow effect, everything is sped up and it comes off as extremely chaotic and hectic, frenetic and frenzied. Which transmits a don't judge me I can't stand this get off leave ur so annoying oh my god my bae is so ripped and we're better than you
I didn't have a problem. I found it amusing. But it has no place in a videogame that isn't about pornography. Rather not see Ryder's Penis or some LI's vj. Not gonna go so well once the media finds out. Nudity without genitalia is fine. It's just a penis
Well hopefully the fact that it was a vagina wouldn't change your opinion? Or would it idk...

I agree, it was pointless and unnecessary. And looked kinda fake to be honest. On the other hand, Emilia Clarke's full frontal was absolutely appropriate, given the context of the scene. So I'd say this: full frontal (even with penises) are acceptable only if it's appropriate for the scene.

Actually I went and checked GoT is always dumb to be honest.. I should of known.
It does add realism. And equality. even Emilia Clarke herself said she wanted to see some. But it was unnecessary.I agree, it was pointless and unnecessary. And looked kinda fake to be honest. The sexless sexuality is a drag, but yeah I mean I watch it for Sam and what's her name and stuff like that which actually feels sincere.
Ok....... Well I guess to each their own.The sexless sexuality is a drag, but yeah I mean I watch it for Sam and what's her name and stuff like that which actually feels sincere.

I don't I guess I just see GoT and 50 shades as basically legitimizing hardcore pornography which is weird when you consider America's super puritanical past.
I kind of think it's America finally fully shedding their kind of "perfectly moral" veneer though which is altogether a good thing... if you are actually from here people aren't like that they are like Ramsay and Tywin.
Anyway it's ultimately just a mess of pandering and fakery, the spams of a country dying and impaled on it's own hypocrisy, but like a phoenix perhaps they'll be reborn into something worthwhile... well... at least something more honest.

Daenaerys are always better than all the rest, it kind of goes back to that female/male divide slightly.

It wasn't the point I was trying to make. If Daenaerys was a male character instead and had a full frontal shot in flames I would feel the same way about it. But I would agree that not everyone shares the same opinion and there is stigma that depiction of penis is offensive no matter the context. But I want the same for Mass Effect, where nudity is used matter of factly for the moments where it makes sense like Heavy Rain did with a nude shower scene, just with the same treatment to male nudity as well.
Mass Effect 3 is rated for Partial Nudity, not Nudity. We get Partial Nudity with Liara
I think the partial nudity may be a reference to the Banshees actually. There's no nudity at all in her scene, its just implied. While the character model was nude, you actually don't see any of the naughty bits in the scene. It's all hidden by camera angles and lighting tricks.
Maybe, though Mass Effect 1 also got rated for Partial Nudity and it's sex scenes were like Liara's in ME3 and they didn't have Banshees.
