Is it a Krogan with some kind of tribal armor? Or a member of a new species?

Well no, but there are krogan confirmed. Plus considering how they slightly redesigned asari I think that there might be redesigns for other species too.

From head to feet it's pretty much a Krogan. They'd never make a new specie that looks that much like an old one. But of course the Krogans could've had some changes to them too, like the Asari.

 

I think that's the reason we haven't seen Turians yet, their skin is probably quite different in Frostbite.

Interesting, the krogan legs are digitigrade. Looks pretty cool. They may have always been that way, but I never noticed.

Looks Krogan to me. There can also be more than one Krogan in a game and young and olderkrogans and genders to affect their looks... Age and gender does affect their look, just compare Grunt and the much older Wrex..

 

There are also MP Krogans to compare.

Right. I guess we'll have to wait to know why that particular Krogan is wearing a tribal armor in Andromeda.

I think it is a krogan.....the guy standing to the left of the N7 guy in the CIC however, I've been wondering if that is actually a turian.

I said earlier in the week their heads have changed. Unlike the Asaru though the Turians and the Krogan have the potential to actually look better. Personally I'm not sure until I see more. 

 

I dont think the Krogan with Rydher is the same one dropping tattoo mcleakface.

 

I'm also fairly sure thats a Turian in the top right of the top photo. But i have bad eyes so meh to yas in advance.

 

Definitely a Salarian to his right though.

True, nowadays we are used to it, but Grunt's initial appearance also made more than one say: "is he really a krogan?".

 

My guess is that the krogan companion has a unique model, like Grunt's. That would explain the differences.

I'm rather think it is a krogan. Compare the headshell we see in the second photo  to the headshell of Wrex in the linked image;

They seem similar enough to me for me to say that I think it's a krogan.

Krogan are not born with their plates, they grow as many separate pieces and fuse together over time.

 

 

So it is a baby krogan who doesn't even have his whole plate yet.
