Okay, so....    Lemme get this straight.

ME3, people bitched when it was released and released on the same day as Javik's DLC.  I can't recall the name of it, because I never bought it. It came with the Deluxe Edition.  Came out too early, you said.  Came out half baked, you said.

Now, people are bitching when the game's done a full 8-9 months prior to release, and they actually have time to put like four of Javik sized missions into the game?  Plus polishing up the game, doing extensive testing on it, and changing anything that needs to be changed?

What the hell is wrong with you?

Have you ever heard of the term "development hell"? A long development time does not guarantee a good product.

You still think the game is ready for q1 2017 release?

Something tells me it isnt ggoing to be and I expect another delay.

Dont doubt it.

Guessing end 2018* is not a bad guess. Time will tell.

EDIT: Sorry, end 2017*.

When this game supposedly releases in Q1 of 2017 (probably on March), it'll be five years since they began the project. 5 years. There's also rumours that the team had to strip a lot of features and are reworking things.

It depends though. This game has been in development for just over 4 years now and I personally think that much time is needed to make great big rpg games. However the push to 2017 when the originally release was late 2016 and the development issues are really concerning.

So....people complained about Bioware making games to quickly....and after slowing down the dev process...they're still complaining...sounds about right.

I don't think they'll be another delay. I think we'll get it at March 2017 (5 years after me3 release). Supposedly they're working around the clock and had to strip away some features to make the deadlines.

5 years is a lot of time don't you agree? Personally 4 years hits the sweet spot for development time.

Soo...4 years = perfection! 5 years = disaster!?

What a difference a year makes.

There is just so much unfounded speculation in this thread. The lenghts some people go to in order to complain...

I'm kind of glad that EA gives the team the time it needs.

Make it shiny, BW.

Mac specifically said that they were taking the additional time to polish content so that they wouldn't be put in a position of having to strip it closer to the release date.  They want to make sure that they have all the content finished.  That's not the same thing as what you're implying, and it seems to me that you (or whoever is the source of these rumours) is just twisting Mac's words to suit your own "fear-mongering" agenda.

Also, adding a mere 3 months to the estimated development time does not equate to adding a full year to the development time.  Bioware has indicated that ME:A is the largest game they have ever attempted to develop.  If that is the case and it is that much larger than the average game... well, it makes sense that they would plan to take longer than average to develop it.

Finally, what does anyone here gain by being "concerned."  You don't have any control over how long Bioware takes to develop this game.  Bioware will take whatever time they need or want and it's not going to be released a moment earlier just because you think the optimum development time is 4 years and not 5.  You're in no position to gauge the situation with any accuracy since you ultimately don't know how big a game ME:A is.

The player's task in all of this is simple - wait until the game is released and THEN decide whether or not you want to buy it.

Development hell is not 5 years especially considering that they still released DLC for months after that and had to adapt to a new engine. Plus they changed the team.

Plus considering the backlash of ME3 I think all the extra time is quite warranted for them to get it right. No one is accusing Bethesda of development hell and their games take a LONG time. Morrowind was released in 2002, Oblivion in 2006, Skyrim in 2011 and the next Elder Scrolls game is so far beyond the horizon that one of the developers jokingly said the release date is 2022.

GTA5 took 7 years to get released on pc. and 5 for consoles.

So 4+ years is not development hell.
