Hi

I have original copy of Mass Effect 1 but it does not appear in my BioWare profile. I would like the "M" icon appear next to my avatar. How do I register it?

Thanks

To my understanding it will only appear if you have played it on PC. Which kind of sucks, in all honesty.

Furthermore it will only appear if you've played the game through Origin, as neither the disc or Steam versions require the use of a EA/Origin account. You should be able to put the keys into Origin and get the game activated there however.

Consoles versions of ME1 can't be made to appear on your profile though.

Yes true and yes that kinda sucks it's always the PC that has the advantage and that's just not fair.

I tried pressing the game as hard as possible under my avatar until it stuck and now it's there, so it must have worked!

Had to get another monitor afterwards though.

You would think they would let you register X-box or whatever console games on Origin so that you could get your icons.

It's because the first game was original published by Microsoft and exclusive to the 360. So there was no need for an EA account login to play.

It was around a year later that the game came to PC now that Bioware was a EA company. Even then the game didn't require an EA account. It was even later when Origin became a thing that EA/Bioware had anyway of knowing who owned the game.

Given that Mass Effect 1 has no unique code that would be very difficult to do. Each barcode or UPC was the same. A person could go to Google for the cover and enter it that way.

That might be true and it probably is because i had no idea that the game was originally published by Microsoft. But the PC users have other advantages as well then the console users i can almost write a book about it.
