Ok, if we play as Ryder and we have a Ryder family... Which name they will use to call you? Your siblings can't call you Ryder as the rest of people, that's stupid, all of you are Ryders, so...

How do you think the devs are going to resolve this?

They could go to Fallout4 way and incorporate a system of 300 first names available. Your sibling can call you by name. At the same time, it seems a disproportionated use of resources for a little result. It's easier that family member calls you by a pet name / nickname. That's been done before with Vega and his "Loco/Lola".

So, which pet name /nickname you think they will use? Do you think they will use one or they will go to the boring route and call you "brother/sister/my son/my daughter"?

You're assuming we will actually be interacting with these family members. That may not be the case.

What did Bethany and Carver generally call Hawke in DA2? I can't recall. I do remember things other than "Hawke", but the sibling simply wasn't present for two-thirds of the game, and it's been years since I've played.

The interaction has to be there, at the end at least.

If the devs have chosen Ryder has family members, they have to interact with each other, even for a short period of time (at the beginning or at the end). Why put family members in the first place if you don't want them to interact a little? Even Spacer Shepard interacts with his/her mother. I think Hannah refers to her child as "sweetheart" in ME3 Citadel DLC.

I can't recall how Hawke was called by his/her siblings either

I call my sister chub-guts

I don't know if BioWare can cater to that.

But if they could I'd take my PS4 over to her house and play it there.

My point was that the interactions could be so minimal as to be inconsequential. Alternatively, the relative could be a squadmate. Those are two possible extremes. I doubt the latter will happen, but we did have DA2. I've already stated, in another thread, that I believe the N7 is the protagonist's father.

I have no idea what sort of pet names they might use. I don't go for pet names. People just call me by my first name, including my family, so I might be the wrong person to provide good input.

I watched all scenes off YouTube, with both Carver and Bethany. They simply say brother or sister, and I think I heard big brother/sister, once.

I appreciate your diligence. This will be noted on quarterly performance appraisal. ;)

Unless there was a way for you to choose somehow from a list, it seems like it would be forcing the family member you have to care about angle too much if they had a predetermined nick name for you.

They'll probably never address the main character by name, similar to Hawke's family on Shepard's mother.

My mom used to call me a blasted a-hole all the time so i'll go with that as the nickname for my character.
