It took me a little bit, but I'm loving it. Was disappointed in the lack of explorable areas on the Citadel, but hey, this game isn't based on that station. The whole game has been fun, even though I'm not too far into it. I have to recruit Grunt to complete the first four dossiers. I like the refined galaxy map too.
You guys may think I'm crazy, but I'm actually having a lot of fun moving around and scanning planets. I'm making sure to deplete every single one I come across. I want as many upgrades as I can get for everything.
I'm both looking forward to and dreading the last mission. I really want everyone to survive. From what I read, as long as you fully upgrade people and your ship, get their loyalty, and send them on the right task they should all make it. Sounds like there's luck involved too though, and i tend to have bad luck. Crossing my fingers!
My impression of the game.

Yeah, ME2 is a fantastic game. Best game i've played since...well, probably since the first one.
I too was a little disappointed by the Citadel, and I would have expected it to look a little more damaged still, but overall, it wasn't something that really bothered me.
As for scanning planets...it's like the other two mini-games. They were fun for a while, but I got a little bored of it after a time.
The final mission is a nail biter, and that's to say the least. It definitely makes you nervous, and it really brings your connection to certain characters to the forefront. Regarding deaths, it mostly depends on what you did or didn't upgrade (Don't forget to upgrade the ship and some of the character's specific upgrades!) and their loyalty. But I do think there's also a bit of luck involved as well. Some of the positions I picked certain team mates to fill didn't fit their skills, but they still survived, while the one guy I picked for one of the situations died, even though he fit well into the job I gave him. So I do think some luck has to do with it.
But, I could be wrong.
Still...one of the best endings in a game ever.
