I'd preorder now if I could get it at half-price. Since that isn't the case, I'll hold off for actual game info, and a release date. I don't even know for which platform I'll be buying, yet. Preorders are something of which I've learned to be wary.

It doesn't matter. If you decide you don't want it you cancel it. You're not locked into a pre-order with Amazon. They don't even charge you until it ships. If you have Prime it's $47.99 at the moment.

Until EA officially announces pre-orders for the game I doubt there will be pre-orders for a deluxe or collector's edition of the game since they don't know what EA is going to charge and if they put the price too low it could become costly for Amazon.

Another reason to wait until the system specs are known.

I rarely pre-order. And it's rarely a good idea.

I'll probably wait until they announce the different versions and see if it's an Origin exclusive (which is will be, because FU EA.) May go for digital deluxe depending on what's actually offered. I don't hold out hope they stopped the day one DLC bullshit, but I'm going to pre-order anyway.

They'll prolly have something like this exclusively for Origin buyers.   EA may be evil, but they're not stupid.   They know that one of the biggest ways to get people to install Origin is by giving %#$^ away, even if it's #%^$ people have paid for.

Needless to say, I'm gonna wait for it to come to Origin as well.   For both this reason, and because I don't wanna input a different code into Origin (the wrong code) and screw myself.

i can already imagine the people who pre-ordered playing the game and then coming to the forums to talk about it ala me3.

i was in deep despair when that launched. because my pre-ordered copy was still on its way while people had already finished the game and was complaining about the endings.

meanwhile, i was like...welp.. =|

I think the benefit for people that pre-order on Origin this time they are going to be part of Origin Access which if it is like the EA Access on the XB1 will give people early access to the game and a 10% discount on their purchase.  In the past the only difference from pre-ordering on Origin versus another retailer is they had a different pre-order bonus. The benefit I think EA at least believes they have is if a person makes a purchase on Origin they are more likely to use it again even if it is just for an EA game.

ME3 was Origin Exclusive and I think DA:I was too, no reason to think any game they put out now won't be, really, going forward. At this point the Bioware games are the only reason it's on my system, otherwise I don't play anything on Origin and would rather just not even use the damn thing.

It may not even be an issue if the game doesn't support Windows 7. I'm not going to buy a new operating system just to play one game.

Amazon has same day delivery on pre-orders. When I pre-order with them the game usually comes a day before or on the day of release.

I am not too worried about the game working on Windows 7 or not, for if it is like Dragon Age: Inquisition the requirement is that it is a 64bit OS the only limits might be official support.  I think in a few years Windows 10 will become mandatory only when DX12 is required and I don't see that happening for a bit yet.

Yea, it started appearing for pre-order on websites around the world a few days a go. I'm just going to wait for the biggest, most expensive Collector's Edition.

Lol this is exactly what I'll do as well I think :D

To all who responded about windows 7:  I keep getting the pop up to upgrade to windows 10 for free, but I really don't want it.  I'm certainly not going to get it just for 1 game.  Hopefully if I decide to get it, it will work with windows 7.  I guess if all else fails I could get it for my kids Xbox One, but I super prefer to play on my PC!

I'll keep my fingers crossed.  Doubtful I'll pre-order though. I'd like to see much more before I'd consider it and I pre-ordered the CE of ME3 and case cracked the discs so I had to stop using the case, lol.  Silly, I know.  But there it is.

Fine by me, soon we might get stuck with the 'win 10-exclusives'

As for the win7 support, people had been able to run DAI on win7, but there were multiple reports of significant performance increase when changing to win8.

(and really, win 8 has its flaws, but it's not anything that bad as some might picture it.  I've been gaming on win8 for ~2.5 years now, running old&new games both. Getting used to metro took less than a week, and I was going to hate it)

Wait, it's already available for pre-order on Amazon, but there is zero sign of it on EA Origin? EA Origin, as in, the Electronic Arts PC client? Electronic Arts, as in the guys who publish every Mass Effect game?

I am much suspacious.

God, don't upgrade to Win10 if you can avoid it. My comp just ran the update one day, restarted and Win10 materialized. The latest annoying bug I found is that it doesn't recognize my headphones. It's a known issue with the drivers, mine are up to date, so I'm about to spend the day hunting down a solution. I won't talk about the weird crashes and freezing that I had to deal with yesterday. :(

Apparently it's not uncommon for Amazon to put up pre-order before an exact release date has even been confirmed or before sites like Origin has made pre-orders avaliable.

I won't pre-order online, the last time I did that, I had the game 1 month after the release date : "yeah, sorry, you see, we finally didn't have enough copies" .......... never again.

Also this preorder looks... I don't know, weird.

I will pre-order MEA on my video game shop in my town, they have all my games in time and even 1 or 2 days earlier :3

I'd wait with upgrading to Windows 10 unless you have to. I have it on my gaming computer and while it has gotten significantly better for me, it used to have some very bothersome bugs so I'm waiting to get it on my writing computer until more time has passed.

Pffft. Amazon.

I've seen books put up on Amazon with release dates and the author hasn't even sent off the final draft to the publisher.

I actually really like the cover even if it is a placeholder;
https://www.gamestop...239261/3max.jpg

It kind of works as a cover for a game about going into the unknown and with you not knowing what lies on the Horizon. All you know is that somewhere beyond the stars and the darkness of space lies Andromeda.

I ran DA:I on Vista and didn't have any issues.

Hoping 7 is viable, I just got it and got the enterprise version so I didn't have to bother with windblows 10.
