Hi everyone,

i have a couple of questions concerning the ability MAGIC for non mages. The description says that it influences the power of salves and potions, but i do not understand what that is supposed to mean? Does it mean that the same salve or potion has a stronger effect when a character with higher MAGIC takes it, or does it mean that if such a character makes such a potion, it has a higher effect on whoever takes it?

The former.

The magic attribute increases the efficacy of potions, salves, and healing poultices for the character using the consumable. (The end-user, if you will.) That said, unless a character is in fact a mage, attribute points are better allocated elsewhere.

I do tend to ignore the magic attribute for non-mages, but would adding to magic increase the resistance of non-mages to magical spells?  I suppose I should relook at the starting stats of elves and dwarves since elves supposedly have more magic while dwarves have greater immunity.

Sort of? Magic contributes to Mental Resistance (0.5 per point above 10, it sez on the DA Wiki, same as Willpower and Cunning), which governs the character's ability to resist some 'mind control' magical effects (like Horror, Sleep, Waking Nightmare, Blood Control),  but it does not contribute to Spell Resistance.
