2000? I thought they were tied with the Asari.

Krogan get old if they don't die young.

Krogan have longer natural lifespans than the Asari, but rarely live long enough to die from old age. Most have their lives cut short from violence or predators on Tuchanka.

If the krogan were building their own arks that would be one thing. The question is: Why the hell would we want them coming pre-ME3? They are just a liability.

Because they are living beings who have the same right to not get slaughtered by the Reapers as everyone else?

Still very curious what what's the deal with Krogan with horn.

I'm sure they're just happy to see you.

I still speculate that we're going to spend a lot of time preventing the krogan from breaking as much of Andromeda's things as they want to.

Its simple. BioWare is not ready to reveal any new Andromedon race yet, so they can only show Milky Way races. That means Asari, Human, or Krogan, as those are the only 3 races revealed thus far. It shouldn't be surprising they are focusing on Krogan, given how visible and unique they are.

Can survive all kinds of environments. We don't know what's out there in Andromeda.

They offer their services to the most credits

What does that matter if they get grumpy one day and decide to take over and run things into the ground? Credits? What good are credits?

For all we know they are immortal like vampires. Wrex is at least 1486 since he was already a clan leader when the Krogan Rebellions started. I think I calculated it to around 1886 max because he didn't know what a Rachni looked liked on Noveria and says his people killed them, not that he personally ever fought them.

Because they are living beings who have the same right to not get slaughtered by the Reapers as everyone else?

Nobody has a right to anything. You get what you can get and that's it.

Although I'm viewing this from the perspective that this isn't some backup plan in case the Reapers succeed. If humanity and all the races were so prepared why were they so pitifully unprepared? That Asari councilor didn't seem aware of any active plan prior to Thessia being lost. Yet the trailer shows the arks in orbit of earth prior to or well after the Reaper War. Nothing in ME makes me think any government really took the Reapers seriously until they actually showed up. At which point it would be kind of late to conceive, research and build 3+ giant arks that can traverse galaxies. Liara's "dad" stated that nobody was even trying to figure out a means to replace relay travel.

Strictly in the interest of Devil's Advocate:

The Asari councilor is also the one who punctuated the loss of Thessia by saying that she had the continuation of civilisation to consider.  For all we know, this might equate to the final part of the launch sequence required to greenlight the Ark Project.

Also, there is plenty in ME to suggest that the Reapers were taken seriously (it was a giant vessel that attacked the Citadel, after all).  There's also plenty to suggest that the truth was hidden from the general populace while the wealthy and political elite dissected the remains and constructed the evidence into the path of their best expedience.

Yes, and she said such plans would have to be put in motion at that point which is what I said. I find it hard to believe that in Biowares human glorifying approach that the Asari would be the ones to conceive the Arks. Or that said Arks would be put on hold until their precious Thessia was attacked. Like all the other races would sit by and be ravaged because only Thessia mattered. Should we not expect to see certain races? The Quarians were off in their flotilla. The Geth were still enemies. The Krogan still pissed at everyone. And Hackett never mentions these Arks?

Yeah a Reaper literally attacked them and they were like "OK, that's gotta be the only one right?" The fact that they ignored the Collectors and treated Shep almost like a traitor demonstrates their extreme desire to simply ignore the issue. When the Reapers do show up Earths leaders have no plan. They're asking Shepard what to do. Six months they keep him locked up and don't discuss anything with him. All the ships weren't outfitted with Thanix cannons. And everyone was ignorantly scrambling to protect their own stuff and/or dealing with internal squabbles. This is the fault of the writers. No real progress emerged between the end of ME1 and the beginning of ME3.

I feel they are going to just continue to **** on the continuity. Mac "Ending Killer" Walters has dug quite the hole...
