I think the guy they are holding over the ledge is male Ryder.  

He's N7, while PC is Ai. So unlikely.

Besides male Ryder was shown in latest teaser, both male and female wear white-blue armor.

I believe Bioware is ******* with us. They never said he was the villain. I believe he is the male protagonist. Same armor as showcased in 2014 when they showed us the male/female hero. They don't want to show his face yet. I truly believe we're N7. We've seen Ryder throughout multiple images wearing N7 armor, like the orange armor with the chest piece and the glass helmet and N7 on the arm. I believe the white armor is our default pathfinder armor but not our only choice. I'm not comfortable playing as some average joe Noob soldier explorer and it's been shown countless times that our Hero is N7.

Oh I know that is Ryder.  I think the shot of the guy on the ledge was taken from an earlier build before they decided to give Ryder their default white and blue look.  They guy on the ledge looks just like the guy we see on the bridge of the Tempest.

The N7 is a Ryder and an anti-villain, an embodiment of uncontrolled wrath, who originally was a respected and much needed member of the Ark community. His motives, whatever they are(the destruction of an Ark may meet the criteria) appeal to at least a small band of Milky Way companions. That's my take away from what was shown which could change with more info. Looking forward to the first novel.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Remnant playing a long con on the Milky Way species, for their own nefarious ends, rather than the technology itself being evil. The Khet attack the Milky Way species because from their perspective, the Milky Way aliens are in league with the villains.

PC is AI?? As in our player character?? O.o is that true or speculation because I haven't heard this one yet.

Oh no, no, no, some see the symbol on the back of the player character's suit as being the letters A and I which might stand for something like ARK Initiative. I understand the confusion.

I'll restate what I've stated before, since I got no input, good or bad, previously. I think the N7 is a Ryder, just not our Ryder. I think he is quite possibly the father of the protagonist.

This N7 is plastered on the cover of the upcoming "Andromeda Initiative" novel, strongly implying he could be the protagonist, or a main character, at least. If he's starring in the novel, that's locking his gender as male.

We saw the pic in the N7 day trailer that seemed to depict a parent and two children.

I believe that the N7 is dad, and the protagonist is one of the two siblings. Which sibling we play is decided by our choice made at character creation time, of course.

I'm not sure what ole dad is up to, but he likely has reasons for his seemingly roguish behavior. We will likely be pursuing him as we carry out our main "Ai"/"Pathfinder" duties, whatever they may be.

That's my theory, as it currently stands. I think it fits the current evidence reasonably well.

Edit: Further discussion with Shechinah and Fogg led me to add this addendum:

The N7 day family photo showed a parent, a younger sibling and an older sibling. It is possible that the older sibling is the N7. Either way, I believe our N7's gender is locked as male.

I threw out the possibility a few weeks back and it spread like the plague. (I'm not claiming I was absolutely the first or only one to suggest it, or pulling any type of "nerd pride" type nonsense boasting.) Many people now seem to be hooked on the idea. There are plenty of more obvious possibilities.

I honestly believe it started several weeks ago when I casually said, "He could end up being an antagonist, of sorts." I developed the idea a bit, but not much. My reasoning was that BioWare had previously told us that he was "not the PC" but "is plot critical". The idea caught on, and now it's like an infection we can't shake. Once the trailer was released, the new info, such as the "sibling angle" was incorporated.

We actually know very little for certain. The upcoming novel "Andromeda Initiative" will likely start answering our questions. I hope it's not delayed as the game was.

I don't think the N7 will be evil, for starters. I think there is a method to his madness, so to speak. We've seen select snippets of his actions. I suspect he has reasons for his actions.

Secondly, the siblings in the N7 day photo definitely showed an age discrepancy, if I remember correctly. The N7 could be dad, or it could be big brother. I do think his gender will be locked, either way.

Right now I believe there will be two choices for protagonist, one male and one female. So the one you pick will be the main character. That is, two characters that can play the same one role of protagonist.
