I can't see it happening any other way.

I predict we find out that the Remnant aren't as "gone" or "extinct" as previously believed.

It does seem that we will have multiple conflicts, and/or sides to the conflict, at least. I'm getting the impression we'll have fellow colonists infighting, "Khet" to fight, and so on. We gotta have variety in the things we shoot, after all.

Right now I believe there will be two choices for protagonist, one male and one female. So the one you pick will be the main character. That is, two characters that can play the same one role of protagonist.

Oh no, no, no, some see the symbol on the back of the player character's suit as being the letters A and I which might stand for something like ARK Initiative. I understand the confusion.

I honestly believe it started several weeks ago when I casually said, "He could end up being an antagonist, of sorts." I developed the idea a bit, but not much. My reasoning was that BioWare had previously told us that he was "not the PC" but "is plot critical". The idea caught on, and now it's like an infection we can't shake. Once the trailer was released, the new info, such as the "sibling angle" was incorporated.

We actually know very little for certain. The upcoming novel "Andromeda Initiative" will likely start answering our questions. I hope it's not delayed as the game was.

It started last year, shortly after the E3 trailer with interpretations of Ghost Riders In the Sky, its cautionary tale and the man in black(armour).

In the EA Play teaser, the male Ryder fighting didn't wear N7 armor. 

 

However, everything is a speculation. They already said the N7 isn't the protagonist but there's still a chance he is a Ryder. Probably a minor antagonist like Arcann in KOTFE.

I find it hard to believe that if humanity is trying to find a new home they would only send one pathfinder to find a planet suitable for humans. IMO if there was a group of 100 humans, I would send out 3 pathfinders to find a home. If there is a group of 1,000 humans, I would send 30 pathfinders.

 

Also, from what we know, the protag is gonna be referred to as "pathfinder" but we don't know if it will be "the pathfinder" or "a pathfinder"

 

So to answer OP, I think the N7 character is "a pathfinder" who is the protag's competition.

Gotcha. I wasn't around as much back then. I'd not encountered the idea before, but I'm not surprised to hear this (thus the precautionary disclaimer in my earlier post).

Very interesting. 

And so yes, that's in the line of what I expect to Andromeda.
